ABC Cheat Sheet: What Will Be Renewed?

at .  Updated at .

With Once Upon a Time canceled, could ABC take out more of the low rated series?

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has lost some steam with the move to Friday nights, but it is very much on the bubble.

Designated Survivor is a more difficult case to assess because the show is down a lot, and does not have as many episodes under its belt.

Have a look at our predictions for your favorite ABC series!

1. Grey's Anatomy - Certain Renewal

Grey's Anatomy Season 14 has been a return to form for the veteran medical drama. It ranks as ABC's highest-rated series in terms of live ratings.

Live + Same Day Ratings: 8 million viewers and a 2.1 rating. This is on par with last year's results.

The show still adds 80 percent to its demo tally with 7 days of DVR viewing factored in.

2. The Good Doctor - Certain Renewal

The Good Doctor has been the first big breakout drama series of the season. When all metrics were added in, the pilot was watched by 33 million viewers. The show was well sampled.

It is averaging 10 million viewers and a 1.8 rating.

With DVR factored in, it gains an enormous 105 percent.

It's no wonder the show has already been granted more episodes. The biggest shocker here is that the network has a show rating higher than Grey's Anatomy.

ABC does not own the show, but the ratings will keep it safe.

3. Modern Family - Renewed

Modern Family has already been renewed, but that does not mean we can't assess how it's performing.

It is averaging 6.1 million viewers and a 1.7 rating. This is down over 15 percent vs. last season.

The show still enjoys gains of 90 percent in Live + 7 ratings.

4. The Goldbergs - Renewed

The Goldbergs continues to be a solid addition to ABC's comedy slate, and its ratings are still strong.

Live + SD Ratings: 5.8 million viewers and a 1.5 rating. This is down just over 10 percent vs. last season.

The show benefits from 50 percent gains in live + 7 ratings. ABC has already renewed it for 2018-2019.

5. The Middle - Ending

The Middle is down just marginally in its final season. It is averaging 5.8 million viewers and a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49.

6. American Housewife - Certain Renewal

American Housewife has moved to a new time slot and is down marginally in the ratings. 4.8 million viewers and a 1.3 rating are still strong figures for ABC. The show also catapults over 60 percent with live + 7 factored in. It is safe.

7. black-ish - Certain Renewal

black-ish has taken a substantial hit in its move to Tuesday nights. It is down over 20 percent to 4 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. But the show is recouping much of the loss with a 70 percent gain in delayed viewing.

The show is owned by ABC and still gets some traction on the awards front, so it will definitely make it to next season.

8. Scandal - Ending

There's nothing to fix here. The creative forces behind Scandal have opted to end the series after Season 7. It is currently averaging 5.1 million viewers and a 1.2 rating. This is down around 20 percent from last season.

The show is still a force in delayed viewing with gains of 90 percent.

9. Speechless - Likely Renewal

Speechless is down 25 percent to 4.4 million viewers and a 1.2 rating. It is still performing well for ABC, but it does not get the same amount of traction in DVR ratings. It is not owned by the network, but the odds are still in its favor. That may change if it continues to slip in the ratings.

10. Fresh Off the Boat - Likely Renewal

Fresh Off the Boat has been relatively stable this season. It is currently averaging 3.9 million viewers and a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49. Being stable bodes well for renewal, but the show is not owned by ABC. It is safe ... for now.

11. How to Get Away with Murder - Certain Renewal

How to Get Away with Murder has been trending downwards for much of its run. The latest season is down almost 30 percent to 3.7 million viewers and a 0.9 rating. The show catapults over 120 percent with DVR factored in. It is also owned by ABC meaning it will be back on the schedule in 2018-2019. There's no way ABC bids adieu to Murder and Scandal the same season.

12. Designated Survivor - Could Go Either Way

Designated Survivor is down over 30 percent to 4.3 million viewers and a 0.8 rating. It still enjoys gains of almost 140 percent in the adult demo with DVR factored in. It is owned by ABC, but the show has not been consistent of late. For now, it really could go either way.

13. The Mayor - Canceled

The Mayor averaged 2.9 million viewers and a 0.8 rating.

14. Kevin (Probably) Saves the World - Likely Cancelation

Kevin (Probably) Saves the World is averaging 2.8 million viewers and a 0.7 rating in its Tuesday death slot. It does get a modest boost when DVR viewing is factored in, but it probably won't be enough to save it. ABC's decision to add some more episodes should not be mistaken as a vote of confidence in the series. If anything, it was to bridge a gap in the schedule.

15. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - Could Go Either Way

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is down almost 20 percent in Season 5. It is averaging 2.3 million viewers and a 0.6 rating. It still secures a solid boost with the DVR factored in.

16. Marvel's Inhumans - Could Go Either Way

The experiment to launch the show in theaters in advance of its TV debut may have failed, but the show still has a chance. It averaged 2.6 million viewers and a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49. It added 150 percent in delayed viewing, so that's a positive. It's difficult to rule anything out with Marvel.

17. Once Upon a Time - Canceled

Once Upon a Time is down 40 percent to 2.5 million viewers and a 0.6 rating. It adds 120 percent with DVR factored in, is owned by ABC and has a lucrative Netflix deal. However, delayed viewing and a good deal with Netflix was not enough to save it. The series will conclude in May.

18. Ten Days in the Valley - Canceled

ABC essentially pulled the plug on the show when it was removed from the schedule. It averaged 2.2 million viewers and a 0.4 rating. Don't expect it to enter production again.
