We finally know who will play all three leading witches on the Charmed reboot!
According to Deadline, Madeleine Mantock has been cast as the third and final sister on The CW pilot.
She will take on the role of Macy, who is a practical, ambitious, and intelligent geneticist who is shocked to the core when she learns that the supernatural world exists.
The potential series has been in the works at the young-skewing network for over a year now. It was delayed from last year's pilot slate because The CW felt there was more work to be done on it.
The network describes the reboot as follows: “This fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series centers on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches."
"Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done.”
Charmed will mark Mantock's return to The CW. She previously starred on The Tomorrow People. The series lasted just one season.
Mantock joins a cast that already includes Melonie Diaz, Sarah Jeffery, Rupert Evans and Ser’Darius Blain.
Jane the Virgin creator Jennie Snyder Urman, developed the series for the network, and it will be written by Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin.
It is one of the network's higher profile series, and its odds of being ordered to series likely increased with Netflix poaching Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Also, The CW is expanding to six nights of programming in the fall which means there will be more space than usual for new series.
