Big Little Lies First Look: Meryl Streep Debuts!

We've known for a few months now that Meryl Streep will appear as a series regular on Big Little Lies Season 2, and now we have our first look at the award-winning actress in action.

Series star, Nicole Kidman took to Instagram to share the first look photo.

"First day on the set with Meryl and “my” darling boys," Kidman captioned the picture.

At the time of Streep's casting, it was revealed that Mary Louis heads to Monterey “searching for answers” because she’s “concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren following her son’s death.”

As you may recall, Big Little Lies Season 1 Episode 7 confirmed that Alexander Skarsgard's Perry was the character who was murdered after it emerged that he was the one who raped Shailene Woodley's Jane.

As such, Bonnie was the character who stepped up when a scuffle ensued during one of the most elegant galas of the season in Monterey.

The series was originally envisioned as a miniseries, but the success with viewers and critics, and the multitude of awards wins paved the way for another season.

All of the key players from Big Little Lies Season 1 will return for Season 2 ... even Skarsgard.
