Arrowverse Crossover: Superman and Lois Lane to Appear!

The 2018 Arrowverse crossover is going to have even more superheroes!
The CW has confirmed that Tyler Hoechlin will return as Superman for the three-episode event, and he will not be showing up alone.
Lois Lane will be making her debut in the universe!
Yes, really! No actress is attached to the project as of yet, but there are a lot of people we would like to take on the iconic role.
Hoechlin has appeared in Supergirl multiple times already, and he was an instant hit with fans upon his debut during Supergirl Season 2.

The most surprising thing about this is that it's not launching a Superman spin-off. The CW's DC universe is expanding by the day, and the next series in the franchise looks set to be Batwoman.
Gotham City and Batwoman will debut in the crossover, and the network is pressing forward with a pilot of the series before anyone even lays eyes on the network's take on the character.
Ruby Rose has been confirmed to play Batwoman on both the crossover and the potential spinoff.
"Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence," reads the official logline for the series.

"But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope."
It certainly sounds like it could be a solid addition to the network's slate of superhero series!
Meanwhile, DC's Legends of Tomorrow will not be part of this year's crossover, and while many have taken issue with this, it makes sense.
This crossover is only three hours as opposed to four last year.
With the sheer size of the case on all of the series, it must be difficult to give everyone something to do.
Given that we're being introduced to new characters this year, it probably makes sense for one series to sit out this time.
