Amazon's Modern Love is going all in with the big names.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming anthology series has rounded out its cast with a raft of new additions, and we think it's fair to say it's a star-studded cast.
Anne Hathaway (Ocean's 8) and Tina Fey (The Office) have joined the cast of the upcoming streaming series which focuses on “love in all of its complicated and beautiful forms,” according to the description of the series.
It is based on long-running Modern Love feature in the New York Times. This marks the streamer's third series based on a podcast.
Homecoming, Lore, and The New Yorker Presents arrived on Amazon in recent years.
The cast also includes John Slattery (Mad Men), Dev Patel (Skins UK), Catherine Keener (Kidding), Andy Garcia (Ballers), Cristin Milioti (How I Met Your Mother), Brandon Victor Dixon (Power), Olivia Cooke (Bates Motel), Andrew Scott (Sherlock), Julia Garner (Ozark), Shea Whigham (Homecoming), Gary Carr (The Deuce), John Gallagher Jr. (The Newsroom) and Sofia Boutella (Fahrenheit 451).
"It's like I woke up in the actor candy store. We've managed to assemble a dream cast of my favorite actors," said showrunner John Carney.
"It's a testament to the reach of the original column and of how, now more than ever, love is the only certainty."
The series is already in production in New York City.
We have to admit: This has got to be one of the most impressive casts on all of TV, and we can't wait to watch the series when it launches on Amazon.
There has been much change at the streamer ever since Jennifer Salke was appointed the head of Amazon Studios.
