Psych: The Movie is getting a sequel.

TV Line is reporting that USA Network is bringing back James Roday and Dule Hill as Shawn and Gus respectively.

We couldn't have it any other way, right?

There's no show/movie without these two. They are electric when they're on-screen together, so it's great to know they will be back.

The new project finds the two characters returning to Santa Barbara when "Police Chief Carlton Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) is ambushed on the job and left for dead."

Shawn and Gus get their investigative hats back on when "[Lassiter] begins to see impossible happenings around his recovery clinic."

The two heroes will be "separated from their new lives in San Francisco," and they will "find themselves unwelcome in their old stomping grounds" as they work on the case "without the benefit of the police, their loved ones, or the quality sourdough bakeries of the Bay Area."

It sounds like a real hoot.

Psych ran for eight seasons on USA Network from 2006-14 and was a ratings success for the cabler.

The first movie launched on the network in December 2017 and scored 1.3 million total viewers and a 0.5 rating.

These figures were way down from the TV series, but it was higher than most of USA Network's original content, leaving many to wonder how long it would be until a second movie was ordered.

Roday is attached to ABC's buzzy A Million Little Things as a series regular, while, Hill is a series regular on fellow USA Network drama, Suits.

Also returning is Maggie Lawson as Juliet "Jules" O'Hara, Kirsten Nelson as Karen Vick, Corbin Bernsen as Henry Spencer.

There's no premiere date as of yet, but there's a good chance it will be before 2019 is out.
