Here is a wrap-up of all the news you need to know from June 19, 2019.

There's a final season announcement for a Netflix favorite, casting announcements for a string of new dramas, and so much more. 

The Netflix show we're talking about here, is The Rain.

The popular post-apocalyptic thriller will conclude with its upcoming third season, Netflix has revealed.

"Survival Squad: We’ll see you in 2020 for the third and final season. 🌧🌧🌧," reads a tweet from the show's official Twitter account.

The good news here is that the show will be getting an ending. Netflix has not had the best track record of late, canceling shows without conclusions. 

On the casting front, Amazon's forthcoming series adaptation has found its lead in Gone Girl's Rosamund Pike. 

The actress will play the role of Moiraine in the project.

The Wheel of Time is set in a “sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it,” according to the official logline.

It follows Moiraine, “a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers."

"There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.”

Meanwhile, USA Network's Brave New World, an adaptation of Aldous Huxley's sci-fi novel is rounding out its cast.

Deadline is reporting that Kylie Bunbury (Pitch), Joseph Morgan (The Originals), Hannah John-Kamen (Killjoys) Nina Sosanya (Killing Eve) and Sen Mitsuji (Origin). 

The new additions join Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story), Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey) and Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones).

The original novel which was first published in 1932, is set in a futuristic utopian society “that has achieved peace and stability through the prohibition of monogamy, privacy, money, family, and history itself,” according to the official logline."

Elsewhere, Game of Thrones grad, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has already lined up his return to the small screen.

The actor has boarded Gone Hollywood, a new drama series which is at pilot stage at FX. The series will follow talent agents as they leave their old-school firm with the aim of creating one of their own. 

With distinct changes from the one they previously worked at, this new one begins to dominate the field. 

Lola Kirke, Jonathan Pryce, Judd Hirsch, and John Magaro are also part of the main cast.
