The 100: 21 Times Bellamy and Clarke Were The Most Platonic of Pals

at .  Updated at .

Everyone knows the story by now of Bellamy and Clarke's close connection, as long as you remember to call it what it is and nothing more.

There is no romance at all in the air when it comes to these soulmates that depend on one another, and that are influenced so much by the way their partner exists in their world.

These two are just the best of pals, enough so that they can show any other friendship on TV how it should be done.

The 100 Season 6 Episode 6 Review: Memento Mori

And like any good, platonic pal partnership, these two deserved a slideshow highlighting their greatest hits. All of which come with no level of romantic undertones or potential for more down the line.

Most friendships could learn from Bellamy and Clarke, but especially their legacy that will go down in television ship history.

What is your favorite Bellarke scene where the two are the very best of friends and nothing more?

The 100 Season 6 airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on The CW.

1. Just One Guy Helping His Platonic Partner Up And Using His Entire Body To Support Her

We all have those friends that touch us the way that Bellamy and Clarke seem to love to touch each other. And those platonic partners look at us exactly the same way, so there is no pressure at all to call this anything but friendship. Just don't watch this The 100 Season 5 Episode 4 scene in full because you might get the wrong romantic idea.

2. Just One Friend Opening Her Whole Heart To Her Bro

Saying that your friend is your family and that your biggest mistake was hurting them is simple friend etiquette. The way that Clarke spent so much time battling with this guilt and how it drives her decisions from here on out? Nothing that we haven't seen before and everything that we should label as fun pal behavior.

3. Just a Human Crying Over The Loss of a Random Friend

Bellamy may have spent all of The 100 Season 6 Episode 6 one second away from crying again about Clarke and raging into revenge mood because his heart was hurting, but that is a regular day for all of us with our friends. And this transition where Bellamy needed to cry about losing Clarke again alone away from everyone else? This was just Bellamy dealing with a leaf (or a large branch) that got blown into his eye.

4. Just Two Pals Holding Hands

Clarke may have needed Bellamy by her side at a scary point in her decision-making process. She may have needed to hold his hand. She may have needed him to be the one to put that chip in her. But there is absolutely nothing to see here so pay no attention to the pals holding hands as if their lives depend on it.

5. Just Two Familiar Humans Worrying, Touching, and Pulling Strength From One Another

There is no explanation for The 100 Season 4 Episode 13. All the touching, the prolonged looks, the emotion dripping off every Bellarke scene, none of that has any reasonable interpretation or answer. Bellamy and Clarke knowing that they would lose one another and their need to spend as much time as they could together, there is no platonic answer to be found.

6. Just One Pal Looking Longingly At Their Closest Friend With Someone Else

There was that one season where The 100 all but hit us over the head with a sign that Clarke was looking at Bellamy with Echo, a lot. Any reasonable TV fan who knows these familiar beats of romantic hints hidden behind simple glances would have plenty to say, I guess it is good that there are none of those reasonable people around her. Just a lot of fans that see some casual energy between distant friends.

7. Just A Girl Standing In Front of Her Most Important People, and Her Strictly Basic Pal

Coming off The 100 Season 6 Episode 6, Clarke wakes up in her cell and there is a distinct beat of seconds spent highlighting the people she cares for most. Not digging into the voiceovers, the fact that the longest shots are spared for Lexa and her casual bro Bellamy is very telling. It is nice to know that even in limbo Clarke is only thinking the most platonic of thoughts when it comes to her partner Bellamy.

8. Just One Pal Ready To Give It All Up For Another Pal

Nothing screams platonic like Clarke willing to give up her freedom so that Bellamy would be safe. It is a very casual move and didn't put all her cards on the table for Roan to see (and later use) in that scene. Except that it did and there was no chill to be found.

9. Just A Dude Getting Told That He Was More Devoted To His Partner Than His Ex Girlfriend

The 100 loves its parallels and comparisons, which means having Bellamy's devotion to Clarke raised above his connection to his actual girlfriend Gina probably is important in the larger scheme of the show. You would think, at least.

10. Just Two Platonic Souls Touching

You can time the number of seconds that the show focuses on a Bellamy and Clarke hug vs. literally any other hug on the show ever. The resemblance is uncanny, except that it isn't.

11. Just A Play Watching His Friend Flirt

There is nothing in this focused shot with Bellamy looking at Clarke with someone else. In fact, the camera pointed at all of Clarke's very platonic friends to gauge their reaction to her dancing too.

12. Just A Gal Pulling Comfort From Her Pal

From watching Bellamy sleep to finding peace in his touch, this is all a perfect example of pals just hanging out and having a lot of emotional space between them.

13. Just A Girl Spending A Whole Episode Putting Her Close Platonic Soulmate On The Same Level As Her Deceased Ex

So are we all pretending that Clarke didn't spend a whole episode after Finn died just putting her close friend Bellamy on the same level of value as her ex-boyfriend? From needing him to stay safe to seeing her feelings for him as a love that is considered a weakness, this screamed not so platonic. But what do we even know?

14. Just A Platonic Human Laying Out All His Feelings For A Random Friend To Hear

There is a reason that The 100 Season 3 Episode 5 is such a huge episode for these two, all of it has to do with the way Bellamy and Clarke talked about their feelings. Only the best of friends can have this much weight between them about leaving the other and the pain that comes with that.

15. Just The Closest of Friends Talking About 6 Years of Unanswered Calls

Six years of answered voicemails is a heavy subject for any friendship, and there is no underlying romantic tension included in there at all.

16. Just A Dude Risking His Sister's Life For His Closest of Platonic Soulmates

Remember that time that Bellamy was willing to let his actual girlfriend be banished but the second his platonic soulmate was in danger he just poisoned his sister? Yeah, me too.

17. Just A Gal Telling Her Pal All About His Value

Clarke not being able to stop herself from showering Bellamy with compliments is such a classic friend move though.

18. Just A Gal Getting Told By Her Best Friend's Girlfriend, Her Ex, and Her Daughter About Her Feelings For Her Pal

This scene during The 100 Season 5 Episode 12 is very underrated with the way that it highlighted these three unlikely people pushing Clarke not to hide from how much she cares about Bellamy and the mistake she made. A mistake we know is the one she regrets the most. The peak platonic pal mistake that means absolutely nothing, right?

19. Just Two Bros Saying Bye

There is probably an explanation for this kind of goodbye between two partners, and if one of you find it please let us know. For now, though we will just sit here staring at this moment over and over again.

20. Just A Guy Risking 293 Lives For A Platonic Mate

Bellamy Blake may be using his head more often until you realize just how quickly that resolve disappears when it comes to his friend. There is something about Clarke that makes him throw it all away and let his heart control his actions. I wonder what that might be though ...

21. Just A Girl Getting Tortured By The Idea of Putting Her Friend In Danger

Sometimes it is all in the details, like Clarke being threatened with the idea of Bellamy getting tortured. But that doesn't mean anything, any platonic pal would have to worry about this one day.

The 100 Quotes

Miller: What does it mean?
Bellamy: It means Clarke's alive. And we're gonna get her back.

Bryan: Are we ever gonna be done fighting?
Miller: Hell yes. We're gonna build a house on a lake. We're gonna plant corn. And raise chickens. And grow old.
