Did Penny and Sylvia find a way inside? Did that way in involve an explosion? We have so many questions! Mainly, how mad is the librarian going to be when she finds out?
Poor Quentin. He probably doesn't remember the last time something went his way. Thanks to Julia, he might finally catch a break. But if it involves Mayakovsky, we understand why Q looks upset.
It's Professor Mayakovsky! As usual, he's less than thrilled to have Brakebills' students in his vicinity. Has he finished creating his weapon? Or will he have a new deal in mind?
Can Senator Gaines be trusted? He seemed genuine when it came to his feelings for his wife. But he's Reynard's son. The trickster god isn't one to give up easily. He might be using the senator without him knowing it.
Eliot, it's rude to cast a spell on someone. And that's a general rule. It's even worse when the person's back is turned. What's Eliot planning? And will he get away with it?
Oh, Quentin. After living in Fillory, and being crowned king, do you really need to read more about the place? Kidding. We know the royals need all the answers they can get. But who's the man providing them?
Quentin does a lot of research, but there's only one series of books that excites him. Could this be another copy of the lost Fillory manuscript? Maybe it will hold the answers.
Quentin appears apprehensive in the presence of a new face. We can't blame him. Every time he's met new magicians, assuming this is a magician, things tend to get worse rather than better.
Quentin and Eliot are trapped in the real world now that the button to Fillory is gone. Maybe they're going to try their hand in a career as door-to-door salesmen.
We know Penny gets a new ally in this episode. And Sylvia appears to be in the library. Perhaps she has a similar contract to his? Or maybe she's the one to help restore his magic.
Eliot: I vote that we don't touch it on the grounds that exploding Fillory wouldn't help. Quentin: Okay. We need a new plan. Margo: What plan? The Beast is gone. Our squad is a joke. What plan, exactly? Eliot: We'll figure it out. We always do. Margo: When it's a test to cheat on. Not when we're stuck in some epic fantasy that likes to behead heroes halfway through season one. If we even are heroes. We might be comic relief.
