Bones Season 10 gave us a horribly shocking death that still has us reaching for the tissues on occasion, plus a brand new struggle for Booth and Brennan not long after they got some happy news.

Best Episode
It seems like an obvious choice, but Bones Season 10 Episode 10, the Alfred-Hitchcock inspired 200th episode pulled out all the stops to make the anniversary completely unforgettable. We loved every single second of this fun episode! It even gave us a chance to see Booth and Brennan fall for each other all over again in the most adorable way.
Worst Episode
Here’s the thing. We LOVE Seeley Booth. We adore him. And Bones Season 10 Episode 9 stuck him behind a desk (um, for traffic school?) and effectively kept him out of the story, making for an episode that wasn’t nearly as enjoyable as it could have been. It was like he was there as an afterthought, as opposed to being our leading man.
Death We Still Aren’t Over
Way back on Bones Season 10 Episode 1, we were shocked when Lance Sweets was brutally murdered, and we cried loads of ugly tears. Thankfully, his memory was honored in several ways throughout the season — with an emotional arrival of his son (named Seeley Lance Wick Sweets) and even a the last love story he wrote about Booth and Brennan. We’ll never get over losing such a loveable character. RIP Dr. Sweets.
Character We Grew to Love
We weren’t sure at first if we could trust James Aubrey, especially since his arrival came just as we lost Sweets, but he has quickly become one of the most fun characters to watch on Bones. He’s a quirky guy who loves to eat (seriously, he’s ALWAYS eating) and isn’t easily intimidated. More importantly, he’s fiercely loyal. Who doesn’t love that?
Most Painful Separation
Booth’s gambling addiction became a big issue in Bones Season 10, resurfacing because of a case that involved a poker game. When Brennan found out Booth was gambling again, and he had subsequently put their family in danger, she made him leave. Watching them struggle to find their way back to each other (as well as seeing Booth struggle to overcome his addiction) was hard to watch, but good for the characters all the same.
Favorite Booth and Brennan Moment
Nothing compares to the moment when Brennan and Booth find out they are having another baby. Booth is so happy he somersaults over the bed, showing off a cute, giddy side of his character that we love. The look on Brennan’s face is priceless (and she’s also thrilled she can keep eating peanut butter cookies). The happy news will later mean they rethink their futures, but in this moment, it’s pure joy.
Most Underutilized Character
Angela is one of the more interesting characters on the show, and she’s also been there since the very beginning. But in Bones Season 10, she didn’t feel like a central character at all. She’s supposed to be Brennan’s best friend, an artist, and an optimist, but those things rarely stood out this season. Sure, she had a few good conversations with Brennan and a few nice moments with Hodgins — but otherwise, she wasn’t a part of the story as much as she should have been.
New Favorite Squintern
Jessica Warren. Admittedly, she wasn’t all that likeable to begin with, but in Bones Season 10, we get a chance to know her a little better, and now she’s hard not to love. She’s spunky, confident, and unique — and isn’t afraid to say what she thinks. (Hmmm, might she make a good match for Aubrey?!)
Plotline That Gave Us Whiplash
Angela and Hodgins deciding to move to Paris… then deciding to stay home afterall. Had the show ended with Bones Season 10, Angela and Hodgins moving away to Paris would have been a great happily-ever-after for them, especially since Angela has other hopes and dreams than working at The Jeffersonian. But, we wouldn’t care for a new season without these two, so for now, it’s a good think they’ve changed their minds.
Favorite Subplot
Arastoo going away to Iran was such an interesting (and relevant) storyline. This was not only new hurdle for Cam and Arastoo’s relationship, but we eventually got to see the characters go to Iran when Arastoo was kidnapped. In fact, Bones Season 10 Episode 19 might even get second place for best episode!
Best Use of Social Media
#BrennanIsOnTwitter. On Bones Season 10 Episode 12, Brennan joined Twitter at the advice of her publicist. It not only provided some fun moments for Brennan, but it also meant she had to take a step back and learn from someone else if she wanted to be successful. As an even better twist, fans are now actually able to follow @DrBrennan on Twitter!
Favorite Guest Star
Cyndi Lauper plays everyone’s favorite psychic, the slightly crazy yet completely endearing Avalon Harmonia. She’s always a lot of fun to watch, especially because of the way she contrasts with Brennan. Her role in Bones Season 10 Episode 11 was extra special, when she helped to honor the memory of Sweets on his birthday.
Cutest Addition to the Cast
Sunnie Pelant as little Christine is completely adorable, especially when she’s cursing or quoting her mother. She’s even offered a few favorite quotes of the season, like this one: “I don’t tell my name to strangers. I tell strangers that my daddy works for FBI.”
