This year, Dominion Season 2 turns things up to eleven. It’s not only darker, but much more intense. The world expands beyond the walls of Vega, we visit New Delphi, Helena, and a mysterious outpost called Mallory.
If you’re new to the series, meet the major players below. However, if you’re familiar with the world of Dominion, take a moment to catch up with Alex, Michael, Claire and the rest of the gang. They’ve got quite a journey ahead; join them starting July 9.

Chris Egan as Alex Lannon – Dominion Season 2 Episode 1
Christopher Egan stars as Alex Lannon (aka the Chosen One). Alex left the woman he loved and their unborn child to face the archangel Gabriel. The first episode back brings us up to speed on what transpired when Alex arrived at Gabriel’s temple. We also learn that Alex plans to travel to New Delphi to form a military alliance. Naturally, New Delphi (and its leaders) are not what they seem.
Tom Wisdom as Michael – Dominion Season 2 Episode 1
Tom Wisdom plays the archangel Michael, who was the only angel to take man’s side in the Extermination War. After being betrayed by his human lover, Becca, the archangel turned his back on humanity. Though he had watched over Alex his entire life, the two parted ways. Season two finds our former defender wandering into a tranquil little town untouched by the war. What secrets will Michael uncover in Mallory? Will his faith in us be restored?
Carl Beukes as Gabriel – Dominion Season 2 Episode 1
Carl Beukes plays the archangel Gabriel, leader of the lower angels (aka 8-balls) in the war against mankind. Gabriel absolutely despises humans and believes that his beloved father will return once we are wiped from existence. Alex was last seen entering Gabriel’s lair, but Vega’s leaders had also learned of its location and were planning to destroy it. Will Alex be present when Helena’s forces drop their bomb? What have Alex and Gabriel been up to since the season one finale?
Roxanne McKee as Claire – Dominion Season 2 Episode 1
Roxanne McKee stars as Claire Riesen. Though she loves Alex and is pregnant with his child, her duty to Vega comes first. When General Riesen abandoned the city, Claire stepped in to fill his shoes. She is kind and generous and has always defended the city’s lower classes. However, being kind does not a good leader make. David Whele has been waiting in the wings, and this season his ambitions know no bounds. Whele’s new alliances lead to civil war and Claire Riesen’s ultimate downfall.
Alan Dale as General Riesen – Dominion Season 2 Episode 1
Alan Dale plays General Edward Riesen, who not only led mankind in the Extermination War but founded Vega. He has since abandoned the city after his secret affair with an 8-ball (Claire’s possessed mother) came to light. Last seen driving to New Delphi, it is unknown if he reached his destination or was forced to return to Vega. What role will Riesen play this season? Does he still have enough influence inside the city to help his daughter’s cause? Will he and Whele come to blows?
Shivani Ghai as Arika – Dominion Season 2 Episode 1
Shivani Ghai is Arika, the Queen of Helena who currently holds a position of influence in Vega. As it turns out, folks in Vega are still under the impression she is the wife of the queen. Yes, Arika is a master manipulator and no one knows her true agenda. Does Claire’s pregnancy somehow figure in to her plans? Does she hold Claire’s best interest at heart, or is it all about the Chosen One’s baby?
Anthony Head as David Whele – Dominion Season 2 Episode 1
Anthony Head portrays David Whele, the chief administrator of Vega and an overall troublemaker. The guy is ruthless, occasionally feeding staff to his pet lion when they learned state secrets. We last saw him spiriting his son away and leaving William in the desert with a gun and some food rations. Hey, that’s a decent option considering your kid is the leader of Gabriel’s dark acolytes. This season, Whele wants Vega’s top spot and a civil war might just get him there.
Luke Allen-Gale as William Whele – Dominion Season 2 Episode 1
Luke Allen-Gale is William Whele, son of David and former Principate of Vega. Though he and Claire were married to strengthen Vega’s future, he was outed as a Gabriel loyalist and banished. Left in the desert by his father with nothing more than a gun and some food, it is unclear how William returned to Vega. Is David keeping him hidden in his quarters? Is the former Principate of any use to Gabriel at this point?
Alex Faces Gabriel – Dominion Season 2 Episode 1
When last we saw Alex, he was climbing the mountainside to Gabriel’s lair. What took place once he arrived? Did an angel fall attempting to protect him?
Alex’s Mission Continues – Dominion Season 2 Episode 1
Whatever took place inside Gabriel’s aerie, Alex is clearly safe and ready for action. What dangers await the Chosen One this season? Will he be reunited with Claire?
Alex Journeys to New Delphi – Dominion Season 2 Episode 1
This season, Alex plans to visit New Delphi in an attempt to form a military alliance that will bring an end to Gabriel once and for all. Of course, things are never that simple.
Where is Michael? – Dominion Season 2 Episode 1
Where did Michael fly off to after his run in (and murder) of Becca? Can he forgive mankind for such a betrayal? Will he and Alex be reunited at some point? Or do he and his brother now see eye to eye?
8-ball or Human? – Dominion Season 2 Episode 1
