We have officially met Caitlyn Jenner.
On reality television, that is.
Following weeks of hype and piqued curiosity nationwide, I Am Cait premiered on E! on Sunday, July 26.

Her Mother’s Reaction
Caitlyn had said the person she was most nervous to tell about her transition was her 88-year old mother, Esther. But consider her perfect response to her daughter upon learning the news: “It’s a lot of getting used to, but I will. You have the same soul you were born with.”
Kylie’s Reaction
Caitlyn was surprised to find her youngest daughter on the other end of a video chat, telling Kylie: “I don’t want to scare you.” But Kylie insisted Caitlyn looked “pretty” and later gifted her with hair extensions upon seeing Caitlyn for the first time in person.
Kanye’s Reaction
Kanye West is rarely a part of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. However, upon meeting Caitlyn, he also came up with the perfect reply: “I think this is one of the strongest things that have happened in our existence as human beings that are so controlled by perception. You couldn’t have been up against more.”
Serving as a Role Model
We witnessed the the former Olympian pay a visit to the loved ones of a transgender teen who had committed suicide, advising them to “hang out with the people that love and respect you.” She also enveloped the group in a hug and said: “We’re all beautiful.”
Her Sleepless Night
At 4:32 a.m., Caitlyn was wide awake in bed, telling the camera she hopes to get this whole thing “right,” explaining: “Do I project the right image? My mind’s just spinning with thoughts. I just hope I get it right. I hope I get it right,” in regard to the challenge of being a transgender role model.
She’s Funny!
Caitlyn has a far better sense of humor than Bruce. Case in point: her plan for a ‘Who Wore It Best?” tabloid feature by donning the same Tom Ford dress as ex-wife Kris Jenner.
Her Stunning Admission
Caitlyn said she can relate to the pain of transgender teenager, telling the camera of her own experiences: “I know how these kids can feel. I’ve had some very dark moments in my life. I have been in my house, with a gun and said, ‘Let’s just end it right here. No more pain. No more suffering.'”
