The Good Fight
Thursdays on Paramount+Here’s the thing, Ms. Moyo. Ask your drug kingpin client if he’s happy about being deposed....
Carmen: Mr. Glaubman promised me a settlement offer.
Racehorse: Well, that’s not going to happen. I enjoy fighting too much, and you look like a fun opponent. I hope if you don’t mind if I depose one of your witnesses, a Dr. Debra Hammond, Dr. TikTok.
Carmen: Dr. Hammond is deceased.
Racehorse: Well, that ought to keep her answers brief. I seem to remember hearing there was an acute shortage of trained medical personnel due to the COVID pandemic. Is that what you remember as well, doctor?
Carmen: OK, are we done here?
Racehorse: Yet even in the midst of a nationwide shortage, you were let go. The way I see it, smells of incompetence.
Carmen: Or retaliation.
Racehorse: I wonder doctor if you wouldn’t agree there are a number of factors that go into the type of treatment a patient receives, and some have nothing to do with race or connections. For instance, the patient’s own wishes.
Carmen: Is Harbor Hospital prepared to make a settlement offer?
Racehorse: No, but they are prepared to respond to one. As of 9 a.m. this morning, a counterclaim for defamation was filed on Harbor Hospital’s behalf.
Carmen: Great negotiating tactic.
Racehorse: Here’s the thing, Ms. Moyo. Ask your drug kingpin client if he’s happy about being deposed. Remind him he has to answer every question I ask him on the record, then we’ll talk settlement.
