Pat: OK, this is serious. You put these kids in real danger. You need to get everything you took back.
Courtney: I can’t just take the hourglass from Rick. It belonged to his dad.
Pat: I’ll talk to Rick. You get Dr. Mid-Nite’s goggles and Wildcat’s costume and you bring them back here. Do you understand that?
Courtney: Pat, I can’t just take…
Pat: Or do you want your new friends to wind up like Joey Zarick. Do you? I know you don’t respect me much Courtney, but I thought it was more than this.

Sportsmaster: Oh, I’m going to feel that in the morning.
Tigress: Maybe next time you’ll remember to lift with your legs.
Sportsmaster: Maybe next time they can hire a skinnier coach.
Icicle: Or maybe you should stop killing them. What is this? Like the third coach in two seasons.
Sportsmaster: Hey, the jerk had it coming. Besides, the way I hear it, the last coach, he left town and the one before that…
Tigress: Accident with a riding mower. It was tragic.

If Ted Grant came back, then I have a chance too. That’s what being Wildcat really is. Thank you, Courtney. Thank you for picking me.

Yolanda

Beth: Hey there, Stargirl.
Courtney: Hey, watch the codenames in public.
Beth: Don’t worry. No one ever pays attention to what I’m saying anyway, except Chuck. Seriously, Court, thanks so much for these. Chuck’s so cool. He makes everything more fun. We talk for hours. I’ve never met anyone who listened to me until him.

Pat: You need to leave it with me. The hourglass too.
Rick: Why?
Pat: Because I don’t think you’re ready for it, Rick.
Rick: You don’t know me any better than you knew my dad.
Pat: I know he invented the hourglass, the power inside it. I also know how much he respected that power. He knew how addictive that power could be and how tempting it was to use it in all the wrong ways. Limiting the powers was his idea. One hour a day, and I never saw him abuse it, not like you have.
Rick: You look at me like everyone else around here does: like I’m trash, like I’m not worth a damn.
Pat: No, Rick, you’re wrong. That’s not at all how I look at you.
Rick: Courtney said you were her dad’s sidekick, but you’ve had this journal for how long, and you didn’t figure it out. You didn’t know my parents were murdered. You didn’t know about me. I got to ask you, ‘What the hell did Starman use you for?’ ‘Cause as far as I can tell, you don’t do anything.

Sportsmaster: We won’t be gone all night. I mean, we’ll be gone for a while. We’re going to have…
Tigress: A date night. Your father and I haven’t done that in quite some time.
Artemis: You’ve never done date night, mom.
Sportsmaster: Well, we’re doing it tonight, and we’re going to go to the city.
Tigress: We’ll be home before midnight.

Courtney: Are you sure the Gambler’s in here?
Rick: Who comes up with these names?
Beth: I like them.

Rick: There is no way he built this out of cars.
Yolanda: More like 20 cars.
Beth: Pat should work for NASA.
Rick: I guess Court was right. There’s more to Pat than we thought.

Rick: You can’t just sell it. It’s mine.
Matt: Gas, electric, food. I mean, who do you think pays for all this? You will never understand what you cost me. If it wasn’t for you…
Rick: You’d be a Silicon Valley millionaire instead of a Blue Valley dirt bag.

Courtney: Your parents, I’m betting they were killed by the same people that killed my dad.
Rick: Who?
Courtney: I don’t know yet, but whoever they are, they’re in Blue Valley. They’re the reason I’m putting together this new team: to get justice, for my dad, for yours, for all of the JSA.
Rick: I’ll do it, but I don’t want justice, Courtney. I want revenge.

Rick: Look, I’m not playing fairy princess teatime with you two.
Courtney: I understand.
Rick: What do you understand? My parents hit a tree, and they died. What grand plan of God’s was that?
Yolanda: It wasn’t God’s plan, Rick; it was an accident.
Rick: Then who do I blame, huh? Do you know what it’s like to be so filled up with anger that you feel like you’re poisoning yourself? Do you? I want to hit something – anything – all of the time, every second. You think I like that? I hate feeling this way.
Courtney: My dad was a member of the Justice Society too. He was Starman, and even though I only met him a few times, I feel cheated. He was killed before I even got to know him. But now I get to keep his legacy alive, and you can too. You can be a hero like your dad, Hourman. It’s your choice.
Rick: My choice? When have I ever had a choice? Be a hero like my dad? My dad’s dead.

I’d go home but no one’s there. Mom’s working a double shift, dad’s out of town on a business trip. They don’t have much time for me anymore now that I’m older. They want to get back to their lives, but still. You know, I get why Rick’s so mad all the time. Losing his parents like that. I can’t imagine what I’d do if mine were in some kind of accident.

Stargirl Season 1 Quotes

Mike: Good-bye In-N-Out, good-bye friends, good-bye indoor plumbing.
Pat: It’s Nebraska. It’s not Siberia, Mike.
Mike: I looked this place up on Google Earth. Blue Valley doesn’t have jack.
Pat: It’s got fresh air, it’s got friendly people, it’s got schools without metal detectors. The thing is I need your help with this move, OK. I need you to be positive.
Mike: Positive? I am positive.
Pat: Great.
Mike: I’m positive this place will blow ass.

Starman: No, no, it’s over. The Justice Society must live on. Its legacy must survive. Someone with honor and strength must carry the torch.
Pat: I’ll try.
Starman: Not you. Someone with grace and heroism. I mean, you can’t do it. But someone out there will. It’s definitely not you. Pat, you’re a good friend.
