A man, Edgar, calls 911 after being buried alive. The 118 and other first responders are eventually able to find him, where he tells them he was carjacked, shot, and then buried alive.

After being rescued, Ransone interrogates Edgar, who claims not to remember much, while Taylor starts her own investigation into the case.

Chimney tracks Maddie to Boston, and when he gets to Maddie’s old hospital, he assists with a baby in the parking garage who isn’t breathing and runs into his old colleague, Eli.

Eva visits Hen to let her know that she is leaving town. Later, Karen goes to Eva and admits being threatened by her, but Eva assures her that Hen loves her more.

Both Ransone and Taylor’s investigations into Edgar’s case lead them to a motel, where they find Edgar’s wife, Lizzie, and Tom, a man who worked at the hardware store Edgar frequenting. While there, there discover Edgar was there looking to kill his wife.

Eventually, it is revealed that both Edgar and Lizzie hired Tom to kill the other, and he was the one who shot Edgar and left him for dead.

Continuing to struggle with thoughts of Hudson, Harry goes to the house where he was buried, but he falls and hurts his shoulder. He calls Athena, and she and Ransone rescue him.

After talking with Ransone about how he’s feeling after his own attack, Harry decides he is ready to return home and speak with his family.
