Recap

The teachers sit in the teacher's lounge when Gregory walks in wearing a new hat. They roast him about the hat and he finally takes it off. Mr. Johnson puts it on and they all compliment him on how nice it looks on him.

The teachers receive gifts from their students for Teacher Appreciation. Melissa calls it a scam and Barbara laments that the district doesn't give them much -- not even a $50 Buffalo Wild Wing gift card. They compare gifts and Ava approaches and tells them the district got them courtside seats to see the 76ers. As they celebrate, she tells them that only two people can go.

Janine invites Gregory and Jacob to a game night at her house with her sister, Ayesha. Gregory admits to the camera that he loves board games and they both agree to come.

Ava calls the teachers to a meeting so they can determine who gets the courtside tickets. Barbara throws shade that Gregory isn't even from Philadelphia.

Ava suggests Janine so that Janine can choose Ava to be her plus one, but Ava reminds her that her sister is in town. Ava scratches that idea. Gregory suggests names from a hat and they heckle him about his hat from earlier. They agree to vote.

At Janine's apartment, her sister Ayesha settles in. Janine tells her the itinerary and Ayesha informs her that she has already made plans with other people. Janine asks for more information and her sister calls her "mom". They awkwardly laugh at their mom's expense when Janine mentions their mom didn't care what they did.

She reminds her that game night is the next night and she needs her to be there.

Back at school, Ava passes out sheets of paper for the vote. Jacob and Gregory ask about her evening with her sister and she feels bad for assuming her sister was coming to spend time with her. They are amped for game night.

Back in the lounge, the teachers argue over who deserves the tickets. They each argue that they deserve it and why. Barbara declares that kindergarten is the most important and it sets the tone for their entire education. When Melissa downplays her role, she insults Melissa's vocabulary.

Ava films it and shouts for a fight.

At an assembly, Mr. Johnson wins the tickets. They protest that he's not a teacher and he shouts Do you know how many classes I sub?

Janine consoles the guys with another invitation to her game night. And it's bring your own board game.

At Janine's house, her sister, Ayesha regales the group with a wild story. Jacob goes in for the win on the overly elaborate board game they are playing. Ayesha asks if she's the only one confused and Gregory tells her that Jacob is the only one who isn't. He defends the game and Ayesha goes to get beers.

Erica and Jacob tell Janine that her sister is cool and chill. Ayesha returns and makes a selfish play on the game. Janine makes a passive-aggressive statement throwing shade at Ayesha and Ayesha confronts her. Gregory tries to continue the game, but the sisters argue. They use the game details but are really talking about their relationship.

Janine accuses Ayesha of abandoning her and Ayesha says she knows a lost cause when she sees it. She storms out.

Janine runs after her and continues the metaphor. Ayesha calls Janine childish. Janine confronts her for leaving and Ayesha says sorry she couldn't be perfect like Janine.

Back in Janine's house, Jacob is deeply engrossed in figuring out the game. Erica asks about the teacher's conference. Gregory awkwardly looks at the camera.

The sisters argue. Janine asks why she left her with their toxic mother. Ayesha tells Janine that no one had hope for her and she couldn't take it so she left. She points out that Janine was successful and had people rooting for her. She apologizes to Janine and they are interrupted by Jacob asking about the game.

They go back to the game.

The next morning, Mr. Johnson comes into the break room and gloats about the game. He is wearing a 76ers jersey and Gregory's hat. They all apologize for being spiteful about the tickets.

Ayesha comes to visit and Ava makes short jokes about Janine. They share an awkward moment before Janine asks for her help returning a projector.

A kindergartener comes to bring Barbara a gift and asks if it is too late. She accepts the gift and mentions to the camera that the dedicated teachers and the students are the reason she does the work. She mentions a $50 Buffalo Wild Wing gift card couldn't hurt though.

Ava's assistant brings her a memo saying that the petition to turn Abbott into a Legendary Charter school will be going before the school board this morning.

At the game, Mr. Johnson wins a trivia game for listing 10 cleaning items.

In the break room, he tells the staff that his prize was $1000 and a $50 Buffalo Wild Wings gift card. Barbara is flabbergasted.
