A little boy is woken up at night by a ghostly woman in his room. His father doesn't believe him -- but then he sees her too.
Fitz and Simmons analyze the box that turned the men in the truck insane when they opened it. Mack tells them that a family reported to the hospital with the father showing signs of dementia and claiming to have seen a ghost. Mack pulls up an image of the night they found the dead men in the truck, where a ghostly person can barely be seen.
Robbie finds Daisy in the garage where he works. Coulson and May report to Jeffrey, the new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Coulson is surprised when Jeffrey is not furious with him for having launched a secret mission to find Daisy. Jeffrey tells them that hunting down Daisy is important because her actions are bad for S.H.I.E.L.D. public relations; she's a former agent robbing banks when S.H.I.E.L.D. is just beginning to be trusted by the public again. He dismisses May and tells Coulson he has a special assignment for him.
Fitz and Simmons try to find a scientific explanation for the ghost. Fitz and Mack leave to investigate, but Simmons has to stay behind and guide a tour of S.H.I.E.L.D. for U.S. Congressmen. Turns out, that's the same special assignment Jeffrey has in mind for Coulson.
The ghost, Lucy, enters Momentum Alternative Energy Labs and manages to release another ghost, Hugo. Lucy tells Hugo that the rest of them are trapped in the cells in the lab -- they've been there for years.
Daisy tells Robbie about the Watchdogs -- a group hunting Inhumans like them. Robbie tells her he's not Inhuman; he just sold his soul to the devil. Daisy mentions Gabe and Robbie gets angry.
May starts hallucinating ghosts. She runs to ask their prisoner if he sees them too. He goes crazy and bashes his head against the door repeatedly until he dies.
The other ghosts confront Lucy about their fate. She tells them that if they find a book, they can reverse what was done to them and kill the man who did it.
Robbie manages to tie up Daisy. He confronts her about having a death wish. Daisy tries to convince Robbie to help her figure out who is arming the Watchdogs. She mentions Momentum Labs and Robbie takes off. Daisy uses her powers to escape and jump on top of his car. Robbie drives like mad until she falls off.
Mack and Fitz go to Momentum Labs to investigate and see one of the ghosts. Fitz warns Mack to not let the ghosts touch him or he'll be infected. However, one of the ghosts locks Mack up in one of the cells.
Coulson finds May having a paranoid breakdown over the base being invaded and tries to persuade her to go to the lab. May freaks out and starts fighting her own team. She attacks Jeffrey but is unable to hurt him -- not even with a metal pipe. Turns out, he's Inhuman.
Robbie shows up at Momentum Labs just in time to save Fitz from the ghost. Just as his skull bursts into flames, Daisy walks in. Together, Fitz and Daisy manage to free Mack. Robbie grabs a photo off the wall and disappears.
Mack tells Daisy that Robbie is a vigilante and a killer. Daisy points out that he also saved Fitz's life. Mack begs Daisy to come back to S.H.I.E.L.D. but she refuses.
Jeffrey refuses to tell Coulson how he will be treating May for her illness. She's strapped into a straitjacket on the Quinjet, screaming.
Robbie finds Daisy and tells her he thinks he might be the thing connecting all of the strange events in Los Angeles. She gets in his car and they drive off together.
