Neither Asher nor Jordan (without the absent Simone) have dates to the prom. Lamont Carter has planned a romantic gesture for Grace, asking her to be his date to prom. Olivia is worried about her sponsee Jenn not taking her sobriety seriously. The fire sprinklers go off at Beverly, flooding the gym where the prom was to be held. Coop blows off prom prep with Patience to help Amina with her party. Jamie the server claims to be Asher's prom date to shut up J.J. Spencer lobbies with Carter and Chris to let the Beverly seniors crash South Crenshaw's prom. Patience and Olivia push Layla toward the DJ's producer who is eying her. But she blows him off when he asks that they collaborate. Billy and Jordan invite Grandpa Willie to chaperone. Jenn skips the N.A. meeting. Olivia confronts Jenn and refuses to be her sponsor until Jenn gets serious.  J.J. makes a toast. Asher goes back to hang out with Jamie and they talk about life. Jordan encourages Layla to take more chances. Jabari stole the state championship trophy from Beverly. Spencer intercedes and says they have to return the trophy as a team. Coop and Patience are named prom queen and prom queen. Asher and Jamie dance then they kiss. Coop glows when Patience tells her that Amina called her her best friend. Spencer determines that when Jabari and his accomplices broke in to steal the trophy, they set off the alarm which flooded the gym to cancel the Beverly prom. A high and frightened Jenn seeks out Olivia. The two principals and Billy confront Spencer about the trophy reappearing. Jordan discovers that Layla decided to work with the producer. Spencer takes the responsibilty alone for the prank even though he'll be expelled. Billy finds G.W. passed out.
