Recap

Inspired by Billy's playbook, Spencer comes up with the idea of recruiting recent football stars as potential walk-ons at GAU. Layla reminds Coop about Skye's big social-media presentation, which she's forgotten. J.J. is chosen as recruitment chair for his fraternity and is pressured to hold a rush event at the beach house. Coach Kenny is down on Spencer's idea. But Jordan and Spencer had already contacted a recruit each and they decide to follow through with those meetings. J.J. is trying to balance football and frat activities but Asher is skeptical. Jordan and Spencer's "recruits" both have sad stories and little interest in still playing. Coop is officially enrolled in the law class she had been auditing but she has to attend a study group at the same time as Skye's presentation. Spencer invites Sal to tryouts anyway. Olivia, Patience, and Layla show up to support Skye. Then they crash a quinceaneras using fake names. Jordan's recruit Kai shows up as well. Valerie, the guest of honor, recognizes Patience and assumes she's there to perform. Coop shines at study group. Sal and Kai hold their own. Patience sings for the father-daughter dance. Olivia tears up during that and Layla comforts her. Patience enjoyed this set better than any other recent performances. Inspired by Valerie, Layla is going to hyphenate her label's name, ForMonica-Keating Records. Coop is beaming but Skye is pissed because Coop blew off her presentation and didn't apologize. They break up. Keith, the frat president, collapses from the pill he's taken and ends up hospitalized. The incident sobers J.J. up. He's leaving the frat, school, and football to get his life together. Kai gets a full scholarship. Coach Kenny also offers Sal a full scholarship. Olivia is going to attend the awards ceremony under her own name.
