Review Round Table Quotes

Recap

As Norman is being wheeled into the ambulance, he recalls his mom spinning him around as a little boy, promising never to leave him.

Alex looks on, horrified or terribly unhappy. I'm not sure which.

Of course, the police find the letter and thinks it was an attempt at murder suicide, and that Norma was leaving him. Alex wants them to question Norman.

Norman threatens Alex, telling him he warned him it would never last, but Alex wouldn't believe him. Norma keeps saying "if she's gone," and warns alex to stay away from her in the funeral home.

At home, Norman calls for her, setting a place for her at the table for dinner, later crawling into her bed on her side.

He'll be patient, mother.

Alex goes to the morgue to see Norma. Nobody thinks it's a good idea for him to see her, but instead of helping him and being kind, they let him pull the drawer open himself.

He restores the wedding ring to her finger and kisses her goodbye, telling her he loves her and he always will, whether she's here or not.

Norman wonders what he has to do to reunite with Mother. He dumps him pills into the toilet, for starters. The phone rings. Believing it's Mother, Norman runs excitedly to answer. It's the funeral home. No doubt, Norman won't have the most conventional of funeral arrangements in mind.

Det. Chambers comes up just as Norman is stumbling down the stairs with the 60" TV in his hands and pounding it to shit. He's lying. Of course.

Norman takes the hideous dress to Wilcock and Son. He talks about his mother in the first person, and they find it odd. But, Norman is odd.

He wants to see Mother at the funeral parlor. He takes off the wedding ring, talks to her and says, I wish you'd just told me the plan. She opens her eyes and looks at him.

Alex goes to the furnace repair man and asks what he told her about the furnace. Did he by any chance tell her the old furnace could be lethal? He said he did everything he could, he retagged it and all that. It's not his fault!

Norman arrives home. Mother is there.

But when he gets inside, it's only Juno.

Dylan calls to tell Norman he and Norma aren't talking anymore. He doubts she'll ever reach out to him, but he'll always be there for Norman. Norman suggests he just stay away and remember them how they were, when they were all happy.

Norman is giving a eulogy to nobody at his mother's funeral when Alex walks in. Norman stops talking and taunts Alex with the ring. He's ready to go kill Norman, probably, when federal agents show up to arrest him for perjury.

Talk about frustrating.

Norman gets annoyed waiting for Mother to come back, so he goes to dig her up.

He brings her home, glues open her eyeballs and Chick arrives with Chicken Enchiladas.

Chick tells him he needs to do what he has to do, but he does understand he's dead, right? He's gonna come check on him in a few days. It's the least he can do.

Norman decides maybe he should kill himself. Before he pulls the trigger, he hears the piano. Mother is back. The house is fully decorated for Christmas. It's going to be lovely.
