Blue Bloods Season 11 Episode 12 revolves around a couple of related cases.

During a routine traffic stop, Eddie and Witten find a gun in the back of a car and arrest both the driver and passenger. Eddie is annoyed that Jamie hands the case off to the Anti-Crime Unit when she made the arrest but wonders later if her arguing with Jamie over it will harm their relationship.

Meanwhile, Erin plans to prosecute both the men arrested for the gun possession. One of the defendants, a privileged white guy, gets ROR while the other, who is Latino, gets bail of 250k after his public defender is so incompetent he doesn't even know the defendant's name. Erin asks Jack to take over Charles Hayes' defense and they make a bet over who will win.

Across town, Danny and Baez investigate the shooting of a man and his girlfriend. It turns out the shooter used the gun involved in Eddie/Erin's case. It also turns out the victim is in Witness Protection after turning evidence against the mob.

In what appears to be the only unrelated event, Baker is attacked while walking home and decides to investigate her assault herself while considering whether she wants to continue to work at One Police Plaza.
