Chicago Med Season 5 Episode 14 revolves around ethical dilemmas.

When a husband and wife are brought into the ED after a car accident, Nat quickly realizes the wife is being abused. The husband needs surgery and Marcel finds that his leg needs to be amputated. However, Nat doesn't think the wife should be allowed to make this decision because of the abuse.

Nat and Marcel go to Goodwin, who convenes the ethics board. The board takes decision-making power away from Kim, upsetting Marcel.

Meanwhile, Elsa and Charles discover a young coma patient isn't in a coma at all -- he's catatonic. After successfully convincing the parents to let Charles treat the child, Elsa crosses a line by looking into the father's background without permission. And later, Nat's attempt to help ends in tragedy, and Marcel blames her for what happens.

Elsewhere, April and Ethan treat a patient who appears to be allergic to having sex with her husband.

And Will continues to struggle with his conscience after seeing heroin addict Dr. Asher treat patients despite her substance use problem. She threatens to tell on him if he tells on her, but is there a solution in sight?

Nat: There are bruises all the way down your back.
Kim: It must be from the accident.
Nat: No, these are old bruises. It takes a while for bruises to turn yellow like this.
Kim: Oh. I forgot. I fell down the stairs last week.
Nat: I have to ask. Did someone do this to you?

Marcel: So... I wonder if it's gonna snow today.
