Augie's condition is getting worse and the liver specialist says that he needs a transplant ASAP or he's going to die. He is experiencing confusion as well as jaundice and oxygenation issues.

Sharon helps Maggie find a donor, but the donor has a liver condition that could kill Augie years from now. Maggie wants to do it anyway, but DCFS nixes the surgery at the last minute because of the liver being compromised and says only a family member can consent. Maggie and Ben want to adopt Augie right away, but that'll take time that he doesn't have.

Meanwhile, Marcel finds a tumor while operating on a woman who had a construction accident and she refuses all cancer treatment because her mother died of cancer despite having a terrible time with chemo. Without treatment, she will die herself within six months.

Elsewhere, the kidnap victim April recently saved comes into the ED after a possible suicide attempt, while Charles is upset to learn that Anna is pregnant.
