- Everyone is reeling from Jay's absence and misses him.
- They also start showing Torres the ropes each on their own.
- Torres heads home and has dinner with his mother. He got multiple phone calls from Provi, a woman he was close to and a neighbor, but he hadn't answered.
- When he goes to check on her, she's in the apartment dead and got shot execution style.
- Voight tells him that they'll take the case and but it'll be trifcky to navigate and they'll follow it wherever it takes them.
- They find parts for automatic weapons in Provi's home.
- They get a lead about a possible suspect, Romero. Torres and Atwater roll up on him and try to ask questions and talk, but Romero wants to show off and doesn't appreciate the disrespect. Things get heated with Torres and Romero.
- They have to bring Romero in.
- Kevin and Torres head to follow a lead and end up in a shootout where Kevin shoots the guy who has his gun trained on Torres.
- Torres goes to Nia, Quico's sister, and tries to get a lead.
- They have a meal together and Torres is flirting.
- Torres is doing it to check out Nia's phone. Ruzek and Atwater are in the van waiting for the information, but he left becasue there were too many missed calls from his mom. He races there and she was only calling about a smoke alarm.
- Meanwhile, Kevin goes inside to get eyes and finds a possible suspect who bolts. He finds Mia got attacked and accidentally lets it slip that he knew who she was.
- Atwater calms Torres down when he needs it and Torres talks to Mia and gets a lead on Quico.
- They find Quico on a boat ready to bail and Torres manages to talk him down so they b ring him in. He tells them what really happens and that a gang, the 1-8 are the one swho killed Provi.
- They track down the shooter, Chuey and end up killing him when he pulls a gun on them.
- Mia is upset with Torres for his role in everything and her brother getting 20 years for felony murder.
- Romero tries to sell on the street despite the agreement that was had and challenges TOrres, telling him that he needs to leave with his mother.
- Torres takes off his gun and badge and beats Romero up, causing the gang to back down for now.
