Elric Kane drives his truck with an unconscious Dexter in the back.

Dexter dreams of Harrison brutally murdering the Moose Creek wrestling team.

Dexter wakes up. Kurt calls Elric, checking in. Elric says he has the "fish and game" guy and asks about Harrison. Kurt says he's handling it. When Kurt and Elric hang up, Dexter grabs Elric from behind, shoving his zip tie "handcuffs" into Elric's mouth. The truck swerves and hits a telephone pole. Dexter is thrown from the vehicle.

Dexter breaks the zip tie from around his wrists and cuts the one around his ankles. Elric emerges from the truck with a gun. Dexter runs into the woods. Elric shoots Dexter in the leg. Dexter keeps running, and Elric pursues.

Harrison walks through town and sees Audrey getting a Christmas tree with Zach. Kurt calls Harrison and asks if he is at the truck stop. Harrison tells Kurt about his fight with Dexter. Kurt says he will come to pick Harrison up.

Elric continues to pursue the injured Dexter through the woods. 

At the station, Angela continues her research of Dexter. Logan tells her to go home, as it's Christmas Eve. Logan lets Angela know that he had drinks with Jim the other night, and Jim cares more than he lets on. Logan mentions that "Jim" beat up that drug dealer. Angela doesn't know what Logan is talking about. Logan explains that Jim beat up Miles, the drug dealer responsible for Harrison's overdose.

Elric follows Dexter through the woods. A vision of Deb urges Dexter to save Harrison.

Angela shows up at the Crystal Bar, where Miles deals. He tries to run, but she corners him in the bathroom. She assures him that she doesn't want to bust him or arrest him, but she wants to know about his encounter with Jim Lindsay. Miles tells Angela about how Jim asked him for a "favor," Miles led him outside, and then Jim just started attacking him. Miles also shows her a puncture wound on his neck, where he claims Jim stabbed him with a needle, and only after the cops showed up did Jim start hitting him. Angela takes a photo of his puncture wound.

Dexter hides behind a tree. Elric shoots at Dexter several times.

Kurt takes Harrison to the school, using his old keys to get them in. 

Dexter arrives at a creek and tries to change his tracks to avoid Elric's pursuit.

Kurt and Harrison look at the trophy case. Matt's photo and trophies are there. Harrison asks how Matt is doing. Kurt replies that they haven't communicated much. 

Elric arrives at the creek but doesn't fall for Dexter's changed tracks.

Kurt takes Harrison to a batting cage. Harrison feeds the pitching machine, and Kurt makes a few strong hits.

Dexter sees the abandoned summer camp signs and heads in that direction.

Harrison takes a turn at bat. After a few misses, Kurt gives him some pointers. Harrison improves and starts making some hits. Kurt feeds in a curveball that hits Harrison in the ribs. Harrison insists he's fine and asks for another. Kurt keeps feeding the balls in and hitting Harrison in the ribs. Harrison remembers all the things that hurt him -- his father not understanding him, the podcast about his mother's murder, the wrestling match, etc. Kurt stops. He invites Harrison to his place for venison and scotch.

Harrison examines his bruises. 

Elric follows the trail of blood. 

Kurt drives Harrison up to his cabin. 

Dexter leaves a trail of blood for Elric. Dexter enters the camp and grabs a butcher's knife. 

Angela returns to the station. She tells Logan that she wants to know more about the opioid bust. He tells her about the supplier, Jasper Hodge, that Miles snitched on. He coordinated with the state police to make the arrest, but Jasper had already overdosed by the time they arrived. Angela wonders if Miles tipped Jasper off, but Logan tells her that Miles gave up Jasper quickly when Logan brought Miles and Jim into the station. Miles was held for 24 hours, and Jasper was dead in 10. Angela asks how long Jim was in custody. Logan tells her an hour.

Nightfall. Elric arrives at the camp, still following the blood. He notices the missing knife. Elric searches the rooms in the dark. Elric is startled by his reflection in a mirror. Dexter breaks through the mirror and holds the knife up to Elric's throat. Dexter asks where Kurt has taken Harrison. Elric tells Dexter that Kurt has Harrison up at the cabin and that Elric was supposed to take Dexter there. Dexter stabs Elric in the chest. 

Dexter puts on Elric's hat and coat, then covers Elric with a sheet. He gets a text from Kurt on Elric's phone asking where he is. Dexter unlocks Elric's phone with Elric's face and replies that he is on his way.

Angela visits the coroner and views Jasper's body. The coroner tells her that fentanyl overdoses are not uncommon, and Jasper also had ketamine in his system. Angela examines Jasper's neck and finds a puncture wound. She takes a photo. 

Dexter drives Elric's truck as fast as he can towards Kurt's cabin.

At the cabin, Kurt gives Harrison some scotch. Kurt tells Harrison to stop punishing himself. 

Dexter continues to drive. He texts Harrison, telling him to get away from Kurt.

Harrison receives the text. He gets up to collect wood for the fire. Harrison checks his phone, about to reply, when Kurt comes to check on him, offering a ride home if he needs. Harrison insists he's fine, and Kurt goes back inside. Harrison doesn't reply to his father's text and puts his phone on airplane mode.

Kurt and Harrison enjoy their venison dinner. Kurt tells Harrison a story about getting turned down by his high school crush. He asks about Audrey, but Harrison says she looks at him differently after the wrestling match. Harrison asks Kurt about what happened with him going to jail. Kurt explains that his father murdered a girl 25 years ago. Kurt asks Harrison about the fight with Dexter earlier at the truck stop. 

Harrison explains that he was just being angry at his father. Harrison came to Iron Lake for answers and connection but realizes now that his father doesn't understand him. Kurt tells Harrison that he would never have walked out on him if Harrison was his son. 

Kurt checks the time and gets up to "take care of something." Harrison turns airplane mode off and sees a string of missed calls from his father. 

Dexter desperately keeps driving.

Kurt emerges in his full hunting outfit. He cocks his gun. Harrison is confused. Kurt apologizes and orders Harrison to get out. Harrison begs and pleads. Kurt tells him to run. 

Elric's truck shows up, honking. Kurt points his laser on Harrison and orders Elric to get Dexter out of the car. Dexter drives straight at Kurt. Kurt shoots at Dexter. Harrison stops running and turns around. Dexter drives into Kurt but only knocks him over. The gun is destroyed. Kurt runs off. Dexter and Harrison run to each other and hug. Kurt disappears off into the night. Dexter gets Harrison into the truck, and they drive away.

At home, Angela pores through information on Miles and Jasper. She looks up ketamine in relation to Miami Metro homicide, and information comes up on the Bay Harbor Butcher. 

Harrison asks his father for answers. Dexter tells him that no matter what, he should never feel like he has to be alone with his dark thoughts. Dexter tells Harrison that he was also born in blood, that he also has violent urges, and that his father taught him a way to channel the urges. Harrison hugs Dexter.
