Cookie and Lucious were shocked to learn that a former band was releasing a diss track because they were not invited back for Empire's 20 for 20. 

Cookie, Becky and Porsha were shocked to find the women performing in a shopping mall in bad wigs and giving out swag bags. 

Cookie offered them a contract and they said the only way they would accept is with an apology from Lucious. However, Lucious struggled to apologize and they went to another record label. 

That's what paved the way for Lucious and Cookie to buy the label and they owned the women. Cookie told them to get to work and they will have a good career ahead of them. 

Andre battled with whether to come clean to his father about trying to kill him. When he did, Lucious violently attacked him and Cookie took what seemed to be a heart attack in the aftermath. 

Hakeem proposed to Tiana, but she struggled to commit to him because of the past. It did not help matters that Eddie was in her ear trying to get her all to himself.
