A few weeks have passed following the midseason finale, with the group now scattered. Morgan tells Althea that he should never have left Virginia and that he needs to go back and asks for a ride, to which Althea obliges.

Before leaving, Morgan approaches each group member and offering them the chance to return to Alexandria with him. However, everyone declines. Morgan finds Alicia who has been finding "help me" notes pinned to walkers, leading her to go on a rescue mission to help the person sending the notes.

Morgan decides to accompany Alicia to a factory where she deduces the messages are coming from, but discover that the person that has been sending them is now a walker.

Althea, June, and John find a bunch of walkers have been washing up lately, and try to figure out why.

Luciana, Strand, and Alicia have fallen into a state of depression, while John desperately tries to find a connection with Charlie. After a failed attempt to reach her, Charlie runs away. John enlists Strand's help to search for her.

Luciana spots Charlie fleeing her house and chases after her on her own.

June confides in Althea that she is not the same person that John fell in love with at the cabin and is worried about John finding out. June notices a flock of birds flying away from dark clouds as she realizes that the walkers have been washing up due to an impending storm.

While the group scattered, the storm makes landfall as everyone seeks shelter. Althea and June are caught in the middle of it as walkers begin to be swept up and thrown at them.
