Meredith and Maggie try to figure out where Alex is. They have a hard time tracking him down. Meredith spends the day going from various courtrooms and correctional facilities, and jails but she doesn't have all of the information that she needs and she keeps getting the runaround. After a long day spent trying to find him with no luck she comes home.

When she goes to lay down she realizes that Alex is in her bed. When she asks him where he's been, he says that he's been at home sleeping the whole day. 

Jo still thinks that Alex went to prison and spends the day dealing with the news. Ben keeps checking in on her because she's been acting off. She keeps blowing him off. After she dropped the ball and bailed on a patient who ended up suffering from a collapsed lung, Ben pulls her aside to talk to her.

She blows him off and tells him not to worry about her because she's dealt with a lot before and she's fine. She's built to be fine.

Amelia is hiding out at Stephanies apartment and it forces Stephanie to keep lying to Owen. She doesn't want to face him yet, even though he's worried about her.

Richard, Avery, April, and Maggie plot to make Eliza's first day at the hospital uncomfortable. They enlist other attendees to avoid her, and shut her out of surgeries. Richard and Bailey have it out as a result of what's going on. 

Arizona's case hits her hard when she feels responsible for a pregnant woman injuring herself further. On the way to the hospital Arizona tells the woman to put her feet on the dashboard, but then she gets into a car crash caused by her husband hitting her on his way to the hospital, and she and the baby's lives are in danger from effects.
