Recap

We get to see what happened to Murphy when she was mugged and Tyson saved her. He calls the ambulance as she lays in the street, bloody from being punched.

Murphy discusses her investigation so far with Jess.

Murphy asks Jess, "What's the dude sitch tonight?" because she wants to get out of her head.

...and Murphy does, while Jess and her girlfriend listen in.

And he definitely yells, "Oh, mommy!" at the end. Yikes.

Murphy is not a huge fan of Jess' girlfriend, but she led her to the revelation that she needs to reach out to Tyson's mom.

Upon trying to use the restroom, Murphy realizes she has another UTI and needs a prescription.

Murphy has flashback of thanking Tyson for saving her. A rare tender moment of Murphy's.

She decides she doesn't need antibiotics, but instead starts opening bottles of apple juice at the pharmacy thinking they're cranberry juice.

Chloe is at the police station with her dad, and she's excited to hear that Murphy is there too (looking for Tyson's mom).

Dean proceeds to tell her that there's no body and Tyson still fits all the criteria for a runaway, so he's not a priority.

Hank Mason aka Best Dad Ever returns!

Mom and dad tell Murphy about their "barkery" (a bakery with dog treats). Murphy, if you couldn't guess, is not amused.

Murphy goes to Jess to get checked out, despite the fact that Jess is a vet and not a gyno.

Jess tries to reason with Murphy about contacting Darnell to get to Tyson's mom.

Yet another Murphy vs. Mom tiff. Mom does not seem to care much about Tyson or the fact that Murphy is trying to seek justice for him.

Another Tyson flashback. He teaches her how to fold a candy wrapper into a pterodactyl. Extremely sweet moment.

Chloe is roaming around the police station to find a bathroom and what looks like a recently released jailbird offers to help her.

Darnell converse with Max (we don't know his name at this point) inside of Max's food truck, which Darnell seems to be using to launder money.

Enter Murphy. Cue meet cute. The heart eyes start right away.

Darnell warns Murphy again to get lost and stay away from this entire situation.

Max asks Murphy if she wants any food, but she instead uses the opportunity to see if he knows anything about Tyson's mom or Tyson.

He uses it as leverage to ask her on a date, to which she agrees, but only for an hour.

OMG. Sweet, sweet Chloe. She heeded Murphy's advice that her dad needed to date, and proceeded to set him up with aforementioned jailbird. Too funny

This guy took Murphy to a place he calls 'his favorite view' in all of Chicago. Please tell me he's got something else up his sleeve.

Sweet Jess is trying...new things...to impress her girlfriend. And it leads to the first 'I love you' between them! Super cute moment.

Max and Murphy finish out their date. As grumpy as she tries to be, she definitely enjoys herself.

But she doesn't give him her number. She asks for Tyson's mom's address.

Max tries to talk her out of telling Tyson's mom that he's dead if she isn't 100% sure.

Pretzel guides Murphy to Tyson's mom's apartment the next morning.

His mom knows about Murphy and that Tyson helped her when she got mugged. She is worried that he hasn't checked in yet.

Murphy asks to use the bathroom, but instead sneaks into Tyson's room. She finds and pockets the pterodactyl candy wrapper he made wih her.

She finds his ancient iPod and cries as she listens to Bob Dylan.

Tyson's mom is in denial, claming that Murphy may not have felt Tyson. She's blind, so she really couldn't be sure. Murphy agrees.

After having a moment with Rhonda, Murphy finds a dress to wear to the barkery. It's...bright green. And very poofy.

Dean calls Murphy with news about Tyson. His phone was apparently wiped, which is suspicious.

Turns out jailbird was actually a prostitute. This gets funnier and funnier.

Of course Murphy is the type of person to stop taking antibiotics when she starts to feel better.

Now Max is throwing rocks at the window. Is it 1985?

Well, it works. She agress to go out for a drink with him the next night.

....and she's a little giddy. Jess sees it and calls her out. Murphy asks what he looks like and Jess pretends he's terrible looking, but Murphy knows better.

The pterodactyl is the key! It's a flier for a dance recital that his girlfriend, Kira (spell check), was in. A new clue!

Darnell visits someone in prison, talking about Tyson's wiped phone. The conversation ends with "I'll handle it", talking about Murphy. Scary.
