Jane and Rafael hire a new babysitter. Jane has a hard time letting go, but eventually realizes she can trust the babysitter. Jane tries to impress a professor in order to get her to be her advisor. When she succeeds, she realizes the woman isn't that great at giving her advice, so she asks professor Chavez to be her advisor instead.

Jane is blind sighted when Wesley's expose on the Solanos is published. This interrupts Rafael and Jane's date. While Rafael is doing damage control, Jane takes a look at the nanny cam she left on. She discovers footage of Rafael talking to the man who ratted out Michael to the police. It turns out Rafael was behind it. Jane is furious and leaves.

Earlier in the episode, Jane runs into Michael at Target, but he has no interest in talking to her. We find out that Nadine was shot protecting Michael. Turns out Michael didn't actually get fired, but his boss pretended to fire him so he could infiltrate Nadine's world. Now back in Miami, Michael reviews some footage that reveals Luisa's mother may be alive and a kingpin. 

Just as Petra and Jane start to get close, Petra pushes Jane away in order to protect Magda, who killed Ivan.

Rogelio is broke after putting all his money into the pilot that went nowhere. Rogelio is forced to take on a role he doesn't want to, but decides he won't do it. He also helps Xo get her song as the main song for his nemeses' show.
