Stabler gives the waitress a copy of The Count of Monte Cristo. She is surprised it's not just a sandwich. She asks what it is about. Stabler says it's about a guy who has everything but there are people who are plotting against him.

Meanwhile, at an underground poker club, Reggie makes fun of the Marcy Killers and thinks they are soft. Another mob guy goes on about the Colombos making a lot of money with shell companies and gas tax. "Eddie" understands. Costa wants to know about Eddie and arson. Eddie gives him a story about a friend turning him in. The guy says that Eddie is a poor judge of character -- however Eddie wins the poker game.

There is a different waitress at the usual restaurant. The other mobster decides to harass the waitress for giving him the wrong type of eggs. He's mad at everyone especially Eddie who defends the waitress. Eddie  beats him up and threatens his eyes with a fork.

Reggie tells Eddie this was a bad move and now Costa will be after Eddie.

Jett offers an encrypted device to the cops that Malachi created. Everything runs through the calculator app.  They hold the encryption key. Malachi keeps saying she isn't getting to the point. Jett says they can get copies of mob messages through these phones. They know who distributes phones to these criminal organizations so they have to convince them their current phones are compromised and get them the new phones. They can do this by arresting the old distributor and setting up Malachi as the new distrubutor.

Reggie is worried because Costa wants a meeting.

Bell wants Stabler off the case. She will put him in urgent care so he doesn't have to meet Costa. He refuses. She agrees to surveillance instead.

Stabler stops by home. His mom has put a lot of plants in. Eli has a game soon. Stabler hugs him and says he's proud of him.

Later, Stabler looks at himself in the mirror and looks at his badge. He calls Liv and leaves a voice mail thanking her for everything she's done for him and the kids. She's been his rock. When he said he loved her - the voicemail cuts off. He tries again but decides to leave no message at all.

Brewster asks Bell if she's sure about this. Bell trusts Stabler. Brewster doesn't understand why Stabler is doing this when he has kids.

Costa thinks they have been very generous with Eddie and he put his hands on one of his top earners. Stabler says he questioned my loyalty. My reputation is all I have. Luca whines that he wants Eddie to shut up. Costa takes a gun out of his desk and says you are not one of us and will never be. He only cares if Albi vouches for him. Albi thinks they should look the other way. Luca whines about that. Costa tells him to shut up and tells Eddie not to mess with his guys again. He wants Eddie to take a walk with him.

Bell is relieved when Stabler comes out in one piece.

Someone takes photos of Costa and Stabler. Costa wants Stabler to take Luca's place at a job tomorrow night and walks off.

The news is all over Amir being arrested for distributing the phones. Malachi is impressed. He keeps flirting with Jett who is unimpressed and wants him to just do what he's supposed to in this operation.

Stabler tries to thank Albi who says they just have an understanding. There is an Albanian fighter who has been ordered to take a dive. Stabler is to help rob the place where the bookie who arranged this keeps his money.

Brewster and Stabler argue. Brewster thinks they should just arrest the robbers before the robbery. Bell says they can't and Stabler argues this is how they build a case against these mobsters. Bell wants Stabler to be careful about his headspace.

Albi orders that no phones be used and puts on news coverage of Amir's arrest.

Nova and Hugo talk. Nova says they need new gear. Hugo wants to reach out to Malachi to get new phones.

Malachi goes on and on about how Jett must be jealous of the hacks he's done. She is ignoring him for a while then says it's a Trojan, right? He won't tell her. He thinks she might be into him. Anyway Hugo contacts him to get a new phone and is the fifth to contact them. Jett hesitates before fist bumping Malachi who says he thought she was smiling.

Albi's wife comes to the boxing ring where Stabler is boxing with someone. She shows up in the locker room.  She wants him to invite her for a drink and says Albi is not here. Eddie says it is risky to be seen with her in public. She tells him to come over.

The guys meet to discuss the robbery. Stabler looks at his watch but claims to be there with them.

Later Stabler goes to see Albi's wife who says she only stayed with her husband for money and the promise of a better life. Eddie claims he was never married and didn't want to cause anyone any pain. Does she have kids? No, Albi has a low sperm count and she has no patience for children. Her phone buzzes. She walks off and Stabler drugs her drink.She comes back and touches him while they drink. They do a lot of kissing before she passes out. Stabler puts her on the couch and walks off.

Stabler searches through everything in Albi's home. He finds a locked case behind a pair of rainbow colored heels. It contains a bunch of passports for the waitresses and other young Albanian girls. Stabler takes photos. However Albi returns and he has to hide behind a curtain with his drink and sneak out the back.

Later,Stabler has his gun ready.

Bell and some other cops are on stakeout while the robbery is going on.  There's also a guy inside reporting to Brewster.

Some woman is watching and on her phone while the robbers are inside.  Some cops show up. Stabler tries to get the mobsters out in a timely manner. Bell has someone crash into the cop car. Meanwhile someone gets shot during the robbery. Stabler hesitates but the others tell him to come on. The others are all happy and Stabler is upset.

Brewster tells Bell that Stabler was the shooter.

Reggie tells Eddie he had to take this guy out or the guy would take him out. He tells Eddie to go torch the van.

Stabler returns to the office. He had no choice but to shoot the guy. Fortunately there is a video. The guy is in the hospital. Stabler also tells Bell about the trafficked girls and that he's worried that Rita has disappeared. Bell wonders if they need to call SVU

Albi's wife comes looking for Eddie. She says his camper reminds her of Albania. He offers her coffee. She asks if he's nervous. He says he isn't.  He just feels bad about leaving her. She says most people would have taken advantage but he didn't. She's sorry she passed out. No more drinking on an empty stomach. They end up kissing. She is all hot and wants to do it in a Winnebago.
