Recap

David Carter, a tourist, disappears when fetching drinks at his hotel bar. A hotel security staffer brings in Katsumoto for guidance. Katsumoto wants to refer the missing tourist to Magnum and Higgins. Thomas drafts Gordie to work the case with him. Higgins has to attend a funeral for a dog, Hank. His owner Patty wants to hire Juliet to figure out who murdered Hank. Magnum finds a death certificate for the real David Carter from 1999. Higgins and Kumu case the dog park with the lads. Thomas and Gordie track David's movements. Magnum's pet mouse Roberto escapes when Rick turns around. He recruits T.C to search for Roberto. The dog park's regulars hated Hank, who was poisoned by a lemon bar laced with strychnine. Shots come from David's motel room. David escapes out the bathroom window. David calls the room to tell them to stay away from his family. Patty recalls that her grocery delivery had been left outside for a couple of hours. Patty recently broke off her engagement to Owen. David is really Cliff Bennett, a former mob accountant. Wells, an old mob associate, recognized David at the bar. Owen explains that Patty's wealth comes from alimony, which would have ended if they had married. Thomas and Gordie find the Carters' daugher in a closet. She recalls her mother's abduction. Higgins confronts Patty's ex, Patrick, who is arrested. Magnum and Katsumoto find the vacation rental where the meetup is to take place. But Wells has called in backup so they are outnumbered. David promises to transfer the money back to Wells if he lets Dana go. Gordie barges through the front door while Thomas picks the lock and enters from the back, surprising the thugs. T.C. and Rick piece together that Magnum and Higgins are now a couple.

Katsumoto [referring to Rick's pillow fort]: This is something else.
Higgins: Yeah. It's kind of reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright's early work.

Katsumoto: I know this must be really scary for you and your daughter.
Dana: I know my husband. He wouldn't just take off like this unless something happened.
