Recap

Following the Camarilla witch bomb that killed President Wade, Silver is sworn in as President. Wade's body is infected with witch plague. Abigail informs the others that Alder has returned. Anacostia is missing after the bombing. Silver introduces Petra to a new civilian oversight committee who will be stationed at Fort Salem. Hearst tries out his transplanted witch voicebox at Silver's inaugural ball. Anacostia is among the witches held in glass cases at the ball. Izadora shows Petra the reconstituted Penelope, who still has violent impulses.  The witches try to ambush Horse without success. Horse tells them that the Council of the Great River wants to meet them. Kara informs Hearst his pet project is in jeopardy. Khalida is leaving with Alder on their quest for the First Song to Tally's dismay. Alder asks Horse to help her find the steward of the piece of the song that Tally had recovered from Elayne. Petra arrives at Horse's mansion. She and Abigail embrace. Wade and M show up right behind Petra. Wade had been replaced by a golem created by Izadora. The fugitives inform the rest that Alder has returned. Alder gives the song to its rightful steward and spirits her to safety. The group watches the burning yule log for visions. Scylla buries a goat's heart in hope of reaching Raelle. An "R" appears on the surface above. Abigail and Adil talk about offspring. Scylla makes up with Nicte. M talks with Tally about finding her place. Wade and Horse connect. In the yule log fire, Tally sees a monstrous vision of Raelle's fate and the end of the world. At the ball, two Spree are thrown in with Anacostia and her Secret Service beau. He stabs himself under the female Spree's spell and Anacostia kills her. Wade has to be relocated.
