Recap

An elderly Betty at 86 is on bed and reading the obituaries in bed. She finds Jughead's obituary and tells her granddaughter Alice that all of her friends have passed away.

Betty asks her granddaughter to take her to Riverdale one last time before she forgets everything. Her granddaughter agrees to take her.

After Betty falls asleep, she finds Jughead sitting by her bed; she tells him that she wants to go back to see all her friends again. Jughead says he can take her back to one day of her choosing. Betty says she wants to do the day she missed at Riverdale High: the day she got the mumps and missed getting her yearbook signed.

Betty walks through the door and returns to her teenage self. She sees Archie from her window.

Archie asks his mom if he's going to be driving around the country and building highways on the crew. His mother isn't so sure; she thinks he can stay to write more poems. Mary thinks Archie will forget about Riverdale when he leaves the town.

Mary thinks Archie will settle somewhere in the West. She gives him her blessing to sign up for the crew.

Jughead tells Betty that in the future, Mary will buy her dress shop and find a partner in the future.

Betty rushes downstairs to find Alice and Polly; Betty is excited to see her family again. Alice became a flight attendant and divorced Hal; Polly is pregnant. Betty hugs her mother and Polly and tells them that she loves them.

Jughead tells Betty in the future that Alice successfully saved a plane from crashing. One of the passengers eventually married Alice. Polly had her babies and had a happy life.

Toni became class president.

Betty waxes nostalgia to Veronica; she reads a trophy from the case. She hears Toni tell everyone to grab their yearbook at the start of the day.

Toni reads a poem from Langston Hughes over the announcements.

Betty gets her yearbook from Cheryl; Cheryl tells Betty about her upcoming art show.

Fangs signs Betty's yearbook. Midge tells Betty that Fangs got a hit song on the charts; her parents finally accepted them being together. Fangs is going on tour during the

Jughead tells Betty that in the future, Fangs' tour bus will get into an accident when the tire blows. Everyone died in the bus crash. Midge and the baby will be helped forever by the album sales.

Kevin signs Betty's yearbook. Kevin and Clay plan to move together to New York for school. In the future, Kevin will start an off-Broadway theater company and Clay will become a professor before passing away a few weeks later.

Kevin reminds Betty that she has been in a quad relationship with Archie, Veronica, and Jughead during the last year of high school. To the public, she has been dating Archie.

Betty gets Reggie to sign his yearbook. She confides to Reggie that Angel Tabitha's memories led Betty, Archie, Veronica, and Jughead to be together at the same time. Betty spills to Reggie about how the relationships started between them all.

Jughead tells Jughead that in the future, Reggie will get drafted to the Lakers. Betty remembers that Reggie eventually coaches at Riverdale High; Reggie has two sons who eventually run the used car business.

Veronica tells Betty that she's planning to move back to Los Angeles. Veronica was inspired by Josie's words and plans to move back to become a studio executive. Betty is happy for Veronica; Veronica thinks it's her destiny to be in the movies.

Jughead tells Betty that in the future, Veronica eventually run the movie studio. She won two Oscars and produced plenty of movies. She was buried in Hollywood. Betty reveals she didn't keep much in touch with Veronica post-high school.

Cheryl and Toni host their art show at The Dark Room.  In the future, Cheryl had a very successful career as a painter; she had pieces in shows around the world. Cheryl and Toni had a long life together; they had a son and were activists together. They passed away peacefully after full lives together.

Veronica tells Jughead and Archie the truth about her going to Los Angeles. The boys are sad, but Betty tries to cheer them up about how far they've come. They all tell each other how much they love each other.

At Cheryl's after-party, Archie reads a poem about his best friends to the entire group. Most of the poem is roasts about everyone in the group and their plots from Riverdale's history. Everyone gives him a standing ovation.

Archie tells Betty that it isn't goodbye and he thinks they'll end up together. Betty tells Archie that in the future, Archie will go to California and never come up. He gets married, has a family, and stays in Modesto. Archie is a construction worker and writer. When Archie died, he asked to be buried next to his father.

Betty delivers flowers to Pop Tate's grave; he died early in senior year.

In the future, Jughead will release a successful magazine, "Jughead's Madhouse Magazine." Betty will release several successful newsletters and magazines; her magazine She Says will become a hit to this day. She helped empower women and started several causes. Betty never got married in the future; she adopted her daughter Carla in the future. Jughead never got married in the future either.

Betty wishes she could stay in Riverdale forever with her friends, being young and together forever.

Betty is taken on a final tour of Riverdale. She dies outside of Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe. Betty in the afterlife is brought to the diner filled with everyone again; all her friends are there again to meet them.

The afterlife will keep them together at 17 in Riverdale to relive all the happy moments together. Betty goes through the group hugging all her friends again.

Jughead does a final narrator clip. The sounds of his typewriter can be heard.
