On Supernatural Season 13 Episode 8, Sam and Dean are contacted by a demon named Barthamus who promises he can help them find Jack, but they have to help him retrieve a mysterious trunk he is after. The guys debate on whether to help him out, but they decided against their better judgement to go ahead and do it. Barthamus tells them a story of a man named Luther who collects things from demons, and how he had aquired this trunk Barthamus wants. The guys head to Luther's place, along with two other people in their group, but Luther is waiting for them. Luther first gets the upper hand on Sam and knocks him out. Thankfully, Sam comes to before Luther can get his hands on Dean. Sam and Dean tie Luther up and are able to retrieve the trunk, but Luther manages to get out of his ropes and stops the guys on the road. Luther tells them he had made a deal many years ago with Barthamus to save his son, but his son still ended up dying from drowning and couple years later. Luther made it his mission to go after demon artifacts, and destroy demons, to get revenge. He shows the guys what is in the trunk which turns out to be Barthamus's bones. Before they can say anything, Barthamus shows up and kills Luther. Barthamus tries to bargain with the guys, but they decide they will find Jack on their own and the bones get burned.
