A couple in their car at a look-out point are shot and killed and the car rolled down an embankment. Cho says they could use Jane’s help on the case but he’s been gone a week. Lisbon calls him but Jane is overlooking the Grand Canyon and doesn’t answer her call.
The killer took a fingernail from both Donnie and Megan, the victims. Gabriel Osborne comes to the FBI claiming to be a psychic who has met the killer, although he can’t remember what the man looked like. He leads the FBI to five more bodies.
Lisbon issues a warrant for Jane and has him returned to the FBI. He says he needs time and she should know that he’d be back. Lisbon says she doesn’t know that. He promises not to ignore her phone calls any longer. While wandering in the woods, following a dog, Jane finds a cabin near a lake that’s for sale. When he returns to the FBI he tells Lisbon he’s working things out.
Gabriel claims there will be more bodies. When the FBI tries to hold him his sister and an attorney get him out amongst lots of publicity where Gabriel declares himself a psychic.
Wiley asks Cho to take him into the field on a stakeout. He’s tired of just being behind a desk. While watching Gabriel’s home, Wiley is knocked out but he doesn’t see who did it. When they enter the house Gabriel’s sister is dead inside.
Jane hypnotizes Wiley and he remembers the smell of old beer before he was hit. That leads the team to a brewery in the area. Where they find Gabriel dead, strung up, with FAKER carved into his skin.
