Elijah searches the woods for Hayley on The Originals Season 3 Episode 2. He finds a bloody trap and then encounters a bloody and badly injured Jackson. Davina promises to channel Dahlia's powers in order to free Hayley from her wolf form if Hayley will help her with Kara. Jackson refuses to feed from Elijah in order to heal and learns that most of his pack is gone. 

Cami pours over criminology books as Detective Kinney works another murder. She searches for Lucien Castle and is disturbed by what she finds. Jackson and Elijah are also disturbed after realizing that Lucien is the one who has sent hunters and poachers into the bayou to kill the wolves. Klaus is unphased, preferring instead of ponder the vision he had of a beast destroying their family. 

Hayley hands over a lock of her hair and Davina sends her on a mission. Cami appeals to Klaus' sense of superiority to ask for his help in handling Lucien. Elijah has a plan of his own. He and Jackson pay Lucien a visit with Jackson's remaining time.

Klaus asks Freya to help locate Hayley. Freya senses Klaus' fear that Hayley is actually missing. Det. Kinney visits Cami and says that he knows about her past and her family's history. He believes she's hiding something and promises he'll figure out what it is. As he leaves, he steals her laptop.

Davina cloaks Hayley as Freya tries to find her. The ancestors reject Davina's pleas until she promises to use Hayley against Klaus. Hayley and Jackson's wolf transformations stop and Hayley goes through with her plan to kill Kara, but she's met with retribution from Kara's coven. They stage a burning in an effort to further divide the covens. Marcel fetches Davina to let her know.

Klaus calls Lucien to tell him to stop killing people and leaving their bodies in the streets. Freya refuses to unchain Jackson because she senses he could transition at any moment. Hayley arrives looking for Klaus. An agreement is reached, but it's not one which makes Klaus happy.

Marcel confronts Davina about the Versailles coven massacre and points out that she cannot best Klaus by becoming him. She sends him out of the cemetery and realizes she's alone. 

Elijah helps Hayley find an apartment across the street from the compound and shares a moment with her when he tells her he never stopped fighting for her return.

Klaus watches as Nathan and Hayley settle in. Cami sneaks up on Will to repay the favor and they learn that the news of their serial killer is out. Lucien is behind the breaking story. 

Freya confirms the prophetess's vision that there is a shadow over the Mikaelson family. The threat against them is real.
