Alaric and Caroline call the police and report that Seline has abducted their daughters. When Alaric calls Seline, she answers but won't let him speak with the girls. She believes she's saving the girls from a lifetime of pain and he vows to kill Seline when he finds her. After they hang up, Sybil and Damon arrive.

Bonnie and Enzo spend the morning reveling in their rekindled romance. She gets messages from Caroline just as Enzo gets calls from Damon. He answers the call and hears Sybil singing. Stefan readies himself to go with Caroline and Alaric to find the girls and she tells him he can't go. She knows that if Damon gets in her way, she'll have to kill him and she doesn't believe Stefan will alow it.

Seline and Sybil spend time catching up and Damon learns that Seline plans to offer the twins to Cade in exchange for her and Sybil's freedom. Stefan and Matt monitor police chatter at the Armory when Enzo and Bonnie bust in the door. He's once again under Sybil's spell and Bonnie sends Stefan inside Enzo's memories to try and find the girls.

Stefan sees Enzo's time with the Augustine society, but instead of any of the doctors performing Enzo's repeated surgeries, Sybil is the evil surgeon. She lets it slip that she's in a diner which gives Stefan and Matt the tip they need to begin tracking the girls. 

Seline says she's not sacrificing the girls, but offering them as replacements instead. Seline believes this would be an atonement for what she did to Sybil on the island and every phone in the diner begins sounding with an Amber Alert. Seline sings and causes everyone to clear out just before Caroline and Ric arrive. Alaric urges Stefan to do more to find the girls even though probing into Enzo's subconscious is harming him.

Damon continues gathering more information about Seline's plans with the girls and what it would take to convince Cade to accept the trade. Lizzie siphons energy away from Sybil in a toddler fit which causes Sybil to kill a police officer. Damon finds a seedy motel they can hide in to summon Cade. He has a plan to save them all and is interested to learn he has at least a little free will.

Bonnie continues to worry about Enzo and wants to find a way to help him. When Stefan says it's not a good idea to go back inside his mind, Bonnie tells him to do it anyway. Matt calls Caroline and Alaric with information about the girls' last known location. When they arrive and find the officer dead, Alaric grows more frustrated with their situation.

Sybil advises Damon about how to talk to Cade and he reveals the details of his plan. Sybil listens to Damon while continuing to torture Enzo. Stefan sees it all and hears her tell Enzo that he's dying. He's able to enter into the scene completely to stop Sybil from torturing Enzo further and she sends a message: Come alone. Damon has an offer.

Matt gives Ric and Caroline the address to the motel and then stays behind to comfort Bonnie as she sits with Enzo. He offers hope by reminding her that Enzo never stopped fighting for her. Enzo wakes up, healthy and whole again, just as Sybil promised.

Alaric and Ric get to a motel, but it's the wrong one. Matt helped buy Stefan time by giving them the wrong address so that he can attempt to fix things for everyone. After learning that Stefan has tricked them, Ric tells Caroline that after they get the girls back, he's taking them away. 

Seline and the twins begin the spell necessary to summon Cade to the motel and Damon is alarmed that Stefan hasn't yet arrived. Sybil let's him know that Stefan is there, but first he has to make his way through a gauntlet of her henchmen. If he survives, he'll be dark and vulnerable, just how Cade likes people best.

While Damon encourages Stefan to fight to the death with those who've been sirened to kill him, Cade appears before Seline and Sybil. Stefan finds his darkness as one of the henchmen tries to stake him. Damon gives him the terms of the deal to save the girls. Cade is intrigued by Lizzie and Josie, but Stefan and Damon accept the deal offering him a different choice.

Stefan returns the girls to Ric and Caroline. Enzo promises Bonnie he's good and tells her that she's the reason he was able to keep fighting. Ric and Caroline take the girls to the Armory to have them checked out and he tries to apologize for telling her the girls aren't hers. She knows that no matter how much she loves the girls darkness follows her and advises him to take the girls somewhere safe.

Caroline finds Stefan outside the Armory with her ring in his hands. She says they're partners and puts the ring back on and professes her love before learning that Stefan is Cade's now. He only has 24 hours left with her before he becomes Cade's.

Seline learns that Sybil cut her out of the agreement when he traded Damon and Stefan for the twins. She'll have to go to Hell while Sybil will be free, immortal, and with her powers. 

Alaric thanks Matt for his help in saving the girls and offers to help fight back. Damon spends the night in the Mystic Grill getting drunk and is shot repeatedly by Matt and Alaric, who are ready for a kill after the day they've had. As Alaric beats Damon up, Matt tells Alaric to finish him. Damon begins dessicating.
