Floki explores the cave he found. 

Judith is on her deathbed with Alfred crying beside her. Lagertha assures him that she fulfilled her mission of seeing him become king. 

Ubbe and Frodo enter into a battle to the death.

A flashback shows Lagertha's escape from the battle after she was wounded and Heahmund was killed. She passed out and the old lady found her and nursed her back to health. She tells her she is reborn and cuts off her hair. 

Ubbe wins the bloody battle, but is hurt pretty badly. He is carried back to the kingdom. 

Freydis is angry at Ivar and demands to know where their son is. He blames her for promising a beautiful child. 

Bjorn and Harald hit a storm and their ships are rocked, throwing people overboard. 

Floki finds a cross in the cave. He begins to scream, and the cave begins to collapse. 

Bjorn and Harald reach land and they begin to fight. Gunnhild breaks it up. 

During the storm, Magnus called out to Jesus, and he is questioned about his true beliefs. 

Freydis asks Ivar if he killed their son and he asks if he was really his. He accuses her of lying to him. 

Ubbe heals and tells Torvi he believes in their old gods, not the Christian God. He, Torvi, and Lagertha prepare to leave Wessex. 

Bjorn and Hvitserk finally meet and agree to attack Ivar together. Ivar prepares to strengthen Kattegat's defenses.
