In each, we get to know Stefan and Elena a bit better, as the characters share their feelings about one another in a pair of diary entries.
The attraction between these two individuals is what ignites the story that drives the series: Elena is the new girl in school; she meets and falls for Stefan, but there are two problems: his dangerous brother Damon; and the fact that he’s a vampire.
