90210 Review: Hot Tian Action!

at . Comments

Pop quiz, 90210 readers: Which of these season three storylines has received more attention?

Teddy and his struggle to come to terms with his sexuality? Or Liam and his servant-like job of escorting Laura, a character who has so rarely been seen over the last couple weeks that, to be honest, I had forgotten her name when she first appeared on screen?

I ask this question because "Best Lei'd Plans" took a major step in its Teddy plot this week, one that I really wish had the distinction of concluding the episode. Instead, that honor fell to a fallen Liam, a character that's been out of the spotlight for weeks.

Hitting the Beach

I'm all for a larger focus on Liam, and I hope this development leads to the return of his bad boy attitude. But I felt like the significant develop of Teddy actually making out with Ian deserved to be the episode's final scene.

Still, let's give kudos to 90210 for going there and let's see what happens from here. Will Teddy truly come out to everyone? Or, as I predict, will he and Ian keep things on the down low for awhile?

In other relationship news, are you buying Oscar's sincerity? I believe he's truly sorry, but I also continue to believe his entire revenge plot was incredibly lame. Didn't it seem laughable when he explained to Laurel that she was indirectly responsible for his mother's death, so he got her back by... having consentual sex with her and her daughter?

Really, did Laurel even do anything so wrong here? A young, hot guy - who her daughter was NOT dating at the time - wanted to sleep with her? She took advantage of that fact and had some fun. Big deal. It's not like Ivy wasn't aware her mom was a very free spirit long before she did Oscar anyway.

So, sorry, I don't feel bad for anyone in this situation. But my heart did drop a bit for Silver. She's always been my favorite character and she got punished twice this week, both times for simply being a good person.

She helped Adrianna apologize to Navid and she forgave Teddy for his homophobic rant from a few weeks ago. Both times, the result was heartbreak and loneliness. Still, I hold out hope that her and Navid will find their way to one another in the near future.

I'm rooting for them. How about you? Elsewhere...

  • Man, Annie is even annoying when she cheers: We know her! That's our friend!
  • Has anyone seen Dixon's storylines? He just can't find one anywhere.
  • What does it say when Debbie and Ryan are the show's hottest couple? By far?
  • In many ways, isn't what Debbie doing much worse than what Laurel did. Ryan is the teacher of her children, after all. Yet this plot is mostly being played as light-hearted, while we're supposed to be on Ivy's side against her mother. Just something to ponder.
  • Yes, many celebrities really do call the paparazzi themselves. Just ask Kim Kardashian.

What did everyone else think of the episode?

@anna maria Actually he dated two sisters and two mothers (Laurel and Debbie)

All I'm saying is out of a group of how many teenagers there is not one with a strong parental figure?

I adore chair

It was a pretty good episode. Annie- I don't like her alone but when she's in an ensemble she's tolerable. I liked Shenae when she was on Degrassi, she was more believable, but in this show she isn't really acting. Adrianna- She is pissing me off, she is such a fame whore now.. I was really glad that Navid put her in her place because she is so vapid and self absorbed. Navid- I think Navid is trying to be a good guy, but I don't know if I want him with Silver.. I love them as friends but romance? I don't think I want it. Teddy- I was def expecting the kiss towards the end. However I wasn't expecting the kiss with Silver, I used to ship Teddy and Silver so it was heartbreaking to see that he didn't feel the same. Silver- Poor silver! Always being rejected. Dixon- I'm so glad there wasn't alot of Dixon, my least fave character Naomi- Love her! I love her new relationship with Ivy, Totally shipping Naomi and Oscar now, I think they are kinda cute... Zach I didn't see going very far. Deb/Mr Matthews- Love them! I love the storyline with Deb being on a dating site, that guy was so strange! lol Liam-I love Liam and I hope he's ok.. He was being so nice to Laura and he gets beat up. I'm glad his brother AKA: Michael Jackson reincarnated wasn't in the episode.

I'm LOVING the whole Deb and Mr. Matthews story!!! You get your grrove on girl!! LOL!! And I have to say that I really like Navid and Silver together. I really hope it works out!! I wasn't surprised to see Teddy kiss Ian. You kinda saw that coming once it was in the room alone with him. This was a GREAT episode!!! It has been a little slow over the last few weeks but I'm a die hard 90210 girl ;-) BTW, I do miss Dixon. Can we get him some good stry lines?????!!!!! This kid is a great actor with some range. He was AWESOME on The Wire. I hope he gets to showcase it more often.

@socalgirl except annie's parents been shown on the show, ivy's and navid's parents are shown sometimes!! silver has no parents , now that her mother has died and her father is absent.. I don't know whats happening with naomi and ade because their parents were recurring in season 1.. But i think that the show doesnt want to rely so much on the parent-kid relationships for all the cast members.. Becuase it'll become boring.

I think adrianna needs to have a relapse or something and knock. Her down from her high horse already...and I think annie needs to jump back into the actually having good plot lines...and one major question...why does it seem that none of these children excluding annie and dixon have parents?

Silver is my favourite character, too. I think it's such a pitty that she's always there for everyone and so forgiving even with Naomi after such a long time and when Annie messed up last summer, she tried to mediate between her an Naomi.
She deserves a decent guy, preferably not an ex of her friends (as Teddy was) ..but I can't help but root for her and Navid! The two of them have a great chemistry, way better then Navid and ad..they never had a big build up to their lovestory where they talked a lot. Navid was just obsessed with her since he was little and Adriana was in need back then..and I can't think about one thing they have in common. Even when they bothh worked on the newspaper..was was Ade even doing there??!
As for Dixon...yeah well there really is no storyline there is there? The whole HIV thing acted out pretty quickyy, him and Ivy are over...I think his character ran it course!...Just joking, but that's what happened to Ethan, right?
Liam...god is he actually become so pathetic that he feels sorry for that very naive and spoiled Laura girl? I would have never kissed that girl..now she'll be obsessed with him and also would the Liam we all know do such thing..accept for Annie..because that's the only way that Shenae is remotly standable..Where was his brother anyway??!

Woah! I love this show! Naomi.

Anna maria

did you guys realize that, except for that fake student police woman, everyone Ryan has dated has been a student's relative? two sisters and now a mom!! I much rather he hooked up with a student, they're 18 now, he's hot, and he's closer in age to them than to Debbie! haha

this was a pretty gud episode...luv the adrianna storyline but i so don't want naomi to b friends wit oscar...ugh

Silver: That's all kinds of crooked.
Ian: Man, I can't do anything straight!

Ryan: She is frightening. I think it's because she looks so much like Christopher Walken.
Deb: It's uncanny.
