Greek Review: "Subclass Plagiostomi"

by at . Comments

Two steps forward, one step back.

After two great episodes, Greek stumbled a bit with “Subclass Plagiostomi.” The hour packed in so much that it lost its footing. I am all for the main characters getting their own stories, but a couple minutes here and there doesn’t make for a smooth episode.

From Subclass Plagiostomi

It was Casey’s time to shine in her Elle Woods persona for a mock trial against Evan. Once again, he proved to be a jerk, making a mess of Casey’s research for the project. For a mere second, I didn’t hate him. He had me fooled, telling Casey his feelings. But, of course, he was just trying to throw her off her game.

As much of an arrogant and heartless person he is, Evan is going to make a pretty good lawyer.

Mean Rebecca returned and was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed her and Evan together in their good times, but she had lost her edge. This week, it came back with a vengeance. Her jabs at Natalie and her sorority had me rolling. With only a few episodes remaining, Rebecca and the ZBZ’s better go out on top. I have no doubt they will.

Finally, some headway with the Omega Chi/Dale situation. Although the pledge talent show left Dale alone on stage in his underwear, it was a great moment. Not only did he have some moves, but it showed (not in a super corny way) who his real brothers are.

Maybe the reason Calvin had no idea about the plan is because he is always with the KTs. He dates one, he is best friends with one, he hangs out at their house all the time... he and Dale should just join the house already. Then maybe Cappie can finally get his book club back.

A few other thoughts:

  • Cappie and Ashleigh were pretty entertaining. In a way, they can bring out the grown up side of each other.
  • No screen time for Beaver and Catherine. This just isn’t right.
  • Ashleigh and Simon broke up. Is she headed into the arms of Rusty? What will this mean for Casey and the research assistant position?
  • Does anyone else cringe when Natalie “the gnome” is on? Definitely rooting for Rebecca to take her down a notch.
  • Loved the nod to season one ZBZ pledge class using the same dance and song for the talent show as performed in the Omega Chi front yard.

Overall, an episode that didn’t really bring the excitement. With the final semester coming to a close, there are quite a few arcs to wrap up. What does the future holds for our favorite Greeks? I'm anxious to find out.

everyone knows casey and cappie are meant for each other. it was obvious even in season one. if they break them up it would DESTROY the show. urgh evan is the biggest jerk character ever, i've thought that from day one.

Evan regretted it after he did it. He gets no sympathy from me. He is still the bitter jealous jerk he always was. Casey belongs with Cappie.

I actually liked this episode. I know that Evan an Casey wouldn't be the ending couple. Even though I wish they would-be ... I loved how Evan actually regretted being a jerk to Casey, and how have up the future with her. But for Cappie and Casey fans it wasn't very exciting.

greek i hope your right i hope they dont end up putting evan and casey together at the end it would ruin the entire show for me.what is the big decision that cap and casey have to make about there relationship in the synopsis for the finale.do you know where i can see the preview for next week i missed it?aus from tvline says he has seen the finale and cried a couple of times what do you think they are also there are two hookups if r&a is one what is the other one?The show has always been about the cartwrights and there interactions in and out of the greek system so to end the show with a unhappy ending to me is just disaster. Ruba casey was always really in love with cappie, evan had the girl of his dreams and what did he do he CHEATED on her and messed it up he also CHEATED on frannie the townie and everyone else.He betrayed his friends and anyone else for power and prestige. If you remember in season 1 all cap did was talk to her and she was willing to leave evan after she got revenge, in ep 7 where they studied together. In season 2 she had max and she dumped him I believe ash said it best at the end of the world party she dumped max and shell dump the next guy because there not you.cap.

totvornottotv, Casey was getting back at Evan for going the I miss Rebecca route to get her to tell him about her case. Frankly Evan deserved that. I was screaming at the TV when she said that I was so mad.lol Until I realized what she was doing. Evan meant it and I don't think Casey really thought he did. Evan looked devastated when she did it but he has only himself to blame. He did it to her first. I thought about it maybe being Frannie as the mole but I don't see Greek going the bring in a new person to be the murderer type of situation.

a few things i didnt like in this episode on the characterization of ash into a hooker and caseys line about as long as you keep him happy the rest of the semester was horrible why would you say that to your best friend. Also as i said last week ash picked the hot guy and he turned out to be a jerk as usual now if she decides to start up with rusty she can be assured of a few things he will Never cheat on her,Never boss her around treat her like property, always have her best interests at heart.ash don't take her own advice like the nerd auction ep.
On the evan and casey scene what the hell was that greek she says she misses him and wonders what it would be like is she that dump oddly enough casey is just as manipulative as frannie and evan yet does it with a smile and puts on a pretense of indignation with underhanded tactics however uses them when it serves her own agenda.cappie definitely is a philosopher and does help ash see the error of her ways he is without doubt the best character on this show he helps out everyone and despite his own immaturity he gives good advice to others which help them make the mature decision.I wanted to see cappie at the cia to me it would be hilarious considering his parents are hippies and hes completely unmotivated.
I have a theory on joshua whopper, fake philanthropy, rush week what if its frannie and spidey because they are going after both zbz and kt so it would have to be someone with a grudge against both houses and there has to be a holy crap moment and i cant see it being cap, rusty, calvin, casey, ash so who else could it be.

I keep waiting for Casey to point out to Evan that he's rapidly turning into his father. Maybe that would shock some decent behaviour out of him. And I hope the other frats stand up at an IFC meeting and point out that Omega Chi, by treating Dale the way they did, is reinforcing the very worst stereotypes against fraternities and making them all look bad. The Omega Chis might become better men if they got shunned by the others for a semester or two.

Casey is not innocent in anything that has gone on. She at one time or another has used both Cappie and Evan the difference is she actually felt guilty about it while Evan has no problem slinging the mud at anyone in his way without regret. He wasn't feeling guilty about doing that to Casey. He was feeling bad for himself. He still wants Casey. I love Cappie and Casey together but I am not a fan of Casey at all. Rebecca may be a bit much but she is who she is and she doesn't pretend to be the nice girl but do all this crappy stuff and still think she is the innocent one. Casey has always been like that. I don't have a problem with Evan bringing Casey up in the witness stand. That was being a good lawyer but the look he gave Cappie before he did it proves he didn't do it to win the case. He did it to hurt Casey because she is with Cappie. I was pretty annoyed watching this episode for the first half hour but when Rebecca threw the diamond down the garbage disposal everything changed. I couldn't stop laughing. I am kind of mad at season 4. There has been very little classic Cappie and Casey stuff and when I think about it all being over in two more episodes I feel cheated. Besides the scene where Cappie and Casey you know I don't think I will look back on season 4 fondly for favorite scenes involving them. They as a couple are a big part of this show for me and I feel like they have been virtually ignored in favor of the Rusty hour. One of these days I am going to count the minutes each major character spent on screen in season 4 and it would not surprise me to see Rusty have double the time as every other character. Sorry so long.

It's obviously Calvin who is giving the Omega Chis the info on KT. Notice he said he had been 'getting along with the guys in the house lately?' Major swerve coming.
