Nikita Review: "The Next Seduction"

You live the lie until the lie becomes your life.

It was so wonderful to see Alex so happy to be free on "The Next Seduction." Well, as free as she can be. Who knew an MP3 player could make a girl so excited? It’s such a joy to watch Alex live her life outside of Division quarters.

Different Nikita

That happiness was short-lived, though, as Michael showed up and made Alex sound like an escort to Nathan. Why he did that is unknown. He said it was to keep her apart from Nathan, but I think it was to keep her from having a romantic interest.

Luckily, he did not succeed in his intentions, as Nikita told Alex to have a life just as Nathan knocked on her door. All of my questions and doubts about Nathan were squashed due to the impromptu dinner with Michael and the look on his face when he asked Alex if she was in trouble. For some reason, I get the same feeling from these two as I do from Nikita and Daniel in the flashbacks. Hopefully, their relationship doesn’t end the way that one did.

So now we know Ari is the Russian Percy, and is equally as ruthless, but actually a lot smarter. How brilliant was that luggage detector? It takes some serious technical advancement to make it look like there is clothing inside of the bag instead of the bomb that was in it.

Meanwhile, back at Division, Michael looked both hurt for Nikita and livid at Percy for making her go back to her Josefine. Michael promised Nikita she wouldn’t have to and Percy stole that promise from Michael. His eyes spoke a thousand words of an apology he will never get to give Nikita.

It looks as if it will take a while for Nikita to get over the trauma of having to relive that alter ego; even Fletcher’s emotionless kiss won’t help her. This smooch was not convincing and if the writers want to make Flikita believable, they need to make the pair emotionally connect, not kiss and run. I still maintain my firm spot on Team Mikita.

Next week: Alex’s past catches up with her, as she appears to come alive from the death Division faked for her. I'm extremely excited for this episode, as it is the one base Division neglected to cover.
