I yelped too when Elijah died the first time and was not too happy when he died the second. Loved seeing Lexie again wish she hadn't been killed. I am a little taken aback because last week Tyler left, this week Elijah died (twice) if they love, so my favorite characters left are Caroline and Katherine.

great episode but big plot hole , Elijah compelled katherine so surely he could have compelled Damon to tell him everything he was planning at the dinner party. But no i didnt see Elijahs death coming.. both of them lol I love TVD. And yay Katherine is back out! Unleash the DOBREV!

ALSO. It was really stupid of Alaric to give his ring to John.
That canNOT end well, since VD has no apparent problem killing characters.

FINALLY! Alaric had something to do!
It was brilliant the way he killed Elijah (the first time).
But even the second time, I really did NOT see that coming.
I love how Katherine's back out.
I can't wait to see how to work out Elena/Katherine scenes!
It's possible she's just going to want to find the moonstone again and run back to Klaus.
That's probably why she's staying.
Overall, epic episode.

I loved this edisode, so sorry Elijah was killed, I really liked him, he was a real cool character. I noticed quite a few contradictions and vague things that happened. For instant in the flashbacks how could John Gilbert have wrote in his journal that Stefan was going to kill him, obviously he didn't or else he couldn't have wrote it. So what did happen? Plus Damon seemed concerned about Stefan when he talked to Lexi(great to see her again) but we all know, from previous episodes that he hated him and has caused him misery for 145 years. Lexi told Stefan he was a ripper when she saw his victims, but yet when Stefan first brought a girl to Damon to feed on, he made 2 small neat punctures in her neck. Quite confusing but a great episode anyway.

OMG, Loved this episode! I couldn't believe all the twists and turns, it was awesome. I just hope that Elena understands now that she has to live and have a future with Stefan. Their love is so amazing and that needs to keep going strong. Katherine can be with Damon now that she's out and all will be great!

I think there is only one dagger and I also think it have to have an other way to kill and original. Elijah said he would take care of Klaus and I don't think he was talking about stab him with a dagger which could be remove anytime. That's why they will need Elijah and put the dagger out...
But if I must propose something I think even an Original could not survive if he is reduced to ashes/put un a mixer, decapitated...I don't know but I really don't see their head grow back, even the Originals...So my guess is that if they nutralized Klaus with the dagger, then they're free to destroye his body...but all we can do is wait and see!
I hope Elijah shows up again, he was a smooth scary vampire! His witch friends will probably figure out where they hid the body and revive him and very pissed off I'm sure..Something tells me they will need him to fight Klaus. That was a total surprise when Alaric killed him the first time, but he needs his ring back!
Question: How many daggers are there? I think the one used to kill Elijah BOTH times was the one John Gilbert brought to Mystic Falls a few weeks ago, since we saw Damon at the cabin after Elena "killed" Elijah so it's safe to assume that was the same dagger Alaric used in the Salvatore's house.
BUT if that is the case then that one dagger must then kill EVERY Original? hmmm considering you can't take it out or the Original will come back to life it seems impossible for there to be just 1 little dagger in the world.
What about the arsenal Elena found in the Gilbert cabin? I think that it may be safe to assume that there are a few oak daggers lying around in there somewhere. no?
Also considering how powerful and Original is shouldn't killing one require a little more than just leaving a dagger in the body? I would think some sort of dismemberment would be appropriate. I mean anyone can just take a dagger out, you know, a witch with an ulterior motive, another original, a vampi

Lana: the ring that John gave to Jeremy was his brother's ring, he was wearing it because Isobel gave his ring to Alaric. So that detail isn't wrong.

I Loved this episode!! But i really didn' expect elijah to be killed! i'm not too happy about it 'cause i liked his character a lot. but i'm pretty sure we'll see him again! Since there's only one dagger to kill an original only one original can be dead. So what are they gonna do when Klaus shows up??
and this whole episode also didn't touch the topic of the werewolves! i don't like the werewolf thing at all! so i didn't miss tyler.
though i kinda missed caroline.. :(

Oh and one more thing, I am truly going to miss Elijah! I actually really liked him. It was like evil forces side with good forces to take down an even eviler force. Sort of what it was like when Damon joined forces with Stefan.

Okay I don't think I've ever seen a more jaw dropping, action packed episode of the vampire diaries yet! The first half-hour of the episode moved slowly, but still interesting with Stefan's story unraveling.
Then came the dinner party and the fullest, most unexpected ten minutes of a show I have ever seen. First finding out that Damon couldn't kill Elijah without killing himself, then Alaric killing Elijah but taking out the dagger meaning Elijah was still alive, and finally the actual killing of Elijah and how It lead to the escape of Katherine, who is supposedly staying to help the team.
I have to say I knew this wasn't Elena's time to become a vampire but I have to say I wasn't expecting her to stab herself and survive.
On a side note, the Bonnie and Jeremy story line was cute, and I feel bad that, the witch came and stole her powers. I have a feeling though, that they're going to have to join forces with Stefan, Elena etc. now that Elijah is dead.
Overall this episode was def

I liked the episode it was well paced and exciting. Though my tv was giving problems with the picture quality :( I miss Elijah, I loved him! However this is not the end of my bad ass vampire. I refuse to accept that this is the end for him. I think they should have waited until Klaus came before murdering Elijah because I think Elijah is their best bet to killing him.

Is anyone else annoyed everytime John tells Alaric he wants his ring back? You gave your ring to Jeremy you moron. Alaric's ring was given to him by Isobel. It just gets on my nerves everytime he says it.

As a lot of people I was shocked at Elijah's first death and then they (the writers) succeed to chock/amazed me once again with his second! How truly amazing those writers are? Brilliant! I mean i could have seems weird that Elijah got suprised twice but Elena/Damon/Stefan's plan to get him again was very well though! Poor Elijah! Don't worry, you're still my favorite bad-ass vampire
wow...excellent episode this week, I was so surprised when they killed Elijah, both times, I just didn't think they'd be able to pull it off! And then Katherine is back and Bonnie's lost her powers...it is all happening in Mystic Falls!!! Loooove it!

As an Elijah's fan this episode was an emotional rock'n'roller coaster for me!! I was sad when I heard Damon's plan, then happy when Elena discovered Damon couldn't do it and then sooooo sad when Alaric (!!) killed him. I relieved when they talk about that dagger thing! And they had to kill him...again! I'm a little depressed for now but I know we'll see him again! They had to take that dagger one day or another to kill Klaus right? At first I was mad about his second killing but after thinking about it, this is an open end. And if I'm wrong and they decide to never put the dagger of Elijah's heart (but it's rather unlikely) I'll go put out myself!!
That was the part for Elijah. As for the rest, I think they did an awesome job. As I said last week, Vampire Diaries' writers never disappointed me! I astonished myself to kind of like Bonnie and Jeremy this week and that attack proves you don't want to mess with a warlock...We all know Bonnie is gonna have her powers back at one point but
