Mark Harmon to Helm USA Original Film Series

at . Comments

Mark Harmon was recently named America’s favorite TV star. Now it looks like we may see even more of the heart throb who plays Leroy Jethro Gibbs on NCIS.

USA Network has given the green light to an original movie starring Harmon and based on a series of best-selling crime novels, according to a TV Line report.

Harmon will play Minneapolis Deputy Police Chief Lucas Davenport in Certain Prey, a two-hour film based on one in a series of books penned by John Sandford.

In this story, Davenport is on the trail of a hitwoman while he himself is in the crosshairs of a killer. Production will start in May on what could be the first of many films.

If Certain Prey is a hit, Harmon could find himself fronting a TV-movie franchise. USA has the rights to all 20 of the novels in this Sandford series, so it's a possibility.

Don't worry, though. Gibbs isn't going anywhere. NCIS was just renewed for Season 9, and Harmon recently signed a two-year deal keeping him on it through 2013.

Mark Harmon is a truly caring and gracious person (as is his wife) and I applaud him for his integrity and displaying a character who is more complex. He is not perfect, but then none of us are.
Thanks, Mark--we love ya'!

I read a couple of the Prey books to familiarize myself with the character, because I had never read any of the books. I don't really see how Mark Harmon is going to work as Davenport. Physically, he looks nothing like the charater is described in the book, in my opinion. The only thing that might fit would be the eyes. They seem to have the same color eyes. Mark also seems too "nice" to play this role, but then again, it is just that a role. He might fit perfectly when all is said and done. I mean he played Ted Bundy, and people probably thought he wasn't a good fit for that either. I'll still be watching the movie when it comes out.

I've never read any of the books, but would certainly watch the movie if it came out. I have always been a fan of Mark Harmon, and I am even more of a fan since I started watching NCIS. Hope the movie series works out for him.

I don't understand why the cast listing says 7 & only shows those 7 in the photo. There are 8 regular cast members- where is Palmer? I love him too! In fact, if anyone has to leave the cast at anytime, let it be Vance. Keep Palmer!!

I have been reading "The Prey" series by John Sanford for 10 years and have read them all. I often wondered who could portray the tough, handsome and brilliant Lucas Davenport. Mark Harmon is a natural fit. I am so excited!! These stories by Sanford are compelling and unpredictable. I am looking forward to this production very much!!!

Can we make friends

McGee: All right. Well you should probably know that Abby and I used to date?
Bishop: Ew. Like, each other?
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: Wait - isn't that a violation of rule 12, never date a....
McGee: It was a long time ago. After we'd broken up, one night I went to her lab. Found a scribbled piece paper; a list. Potential boyfriends had to fulfill certain conditions by a pre-arranged date or else, goodbye.
Bishop: Such as.
McGee: Things started off relatively normal: opening the door for her, flowers, putting the seat down. Then around number 8, it gets uh...
Bishop: What?
McGee: Does she know you have these?
Bishop: Does she know you have these?
McGee: Yeah she wasn't happy when she found out.
Bishop: These are all very specific.
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: These ideas apply to you?
McGee: No those rules weren't in place when we were together. At least I don't think so.
Bishop: What's with the two month cutoff? Abby's sabotaging herself. I've seen stuff like this before. We have to talk to her.

Tony: One other question, I know you're an expert in English history. And I was just wondering, have you ever heard of Archibald Drummond, the 17th Earl of Trent?
Ducky: The Earl of Trent. No, I can't say I have. Why?
Tony: I was just wondering. Thanks.
