The elevator scene took me off guard with Ziva saying she doesn't know if she can take anymore. Remember she was a cold hearted, trained killer. Great scene when Tony (big brother) hugged her (little sister). Great show, great cast, great writing, still fresh. So long Mike Franks, it's been quite a ride.

It was very sad -- I am tearing up right now just thinking about it, and how Gibbs is going to feel. But they set up Franks to appear to have lung cancer or emphysema. Both are terrible, ugly ways to die. The way he went out, while painful at the moment, was much more fitting for a warrior than slow painful drugged death in a hospital.
It reminds me of the good death Jenny chose -- she went out fighting, not sick in bed, drugged, dying by inches. They both died to save Gibbs. Gibbs will keep on keeping on, because not doing so would dishonor those who gave their lives for him. That is the kind of man they've written Gibbs to be.
On another note, Mark Harmon was on Letterman last night after the show, and pretty much all they talked about was his football career and his father's great football career. Seems to me I read that Harmon just won most popular actor award, and the show won most popular show of all time. But no ugly chest-beating and bragging. Just talking abou

Oh my Gosh...Mike's Swan Song...this episode was really really fantastic !Different from any I've seen. Great job Jesse Stern and all the cast. I was so happy to see that dear ol' Mike got a big Abby hug-and Ziva threw him a kiss-Tony stood and shook his hand-McGee waved happily to him across the bullpen and even Director Vance allowed him to take the meeting. Mike deserved all of that and more. He was a good friend to Gibbs and his Team for many years. He made me laugh on lots of past shows and even last night. But, mostly, I cried. I cried for me and for all the fans that will miss Mike Franks and I cried for Gibbs too. He will never be able to send out the bat signal and have Mike rush to his side. It was like Gibbs had lost his oldest and dearest friend. Oh wait, he did. I'm glad no victims were from our Team family, but I am so sorry it had to be Mike. I have lots more things to say about this episode, but for now I just want to say -God Bless you Mike Franks!!!

we all knew at (my) Bones & NCIS Fans group on fb. Someone was going to die. speculation flew for weeks trying to figure everything out. We know everytime it rains someone dies. Tony's reference to the rain was haunting, he kept saying it like well unkowningly it did right under their eyes. it was a emotional episode from the start. You just wanted to crawl through the tv screen and latch on to Gibbs and just hug him. When Ziva reacted the way she did to franks it was emotional. We never see her react with any deceased person. Her moment in the elevator with Tony was what they both needed, just a moment to lean on each other. When the doors open and we saw McGee and Abby there hugging each other and Tony brought them in for a group hug,it gave you a sense of how close the group is,and semper fi. I'm not a fan of EJ but she's a idiot for not following orders. I dont think Gibbs should have gone to help her even if he does get there in time. But iam still shocked. I need a caf-pow and

this was...emotionally draining. i couldn't believe i both laughed out loud and cried. when franks told gibbs to skip ahead, it was hilarious, when ziva broke down in the elevator, heart-breaking. then the end, argh!
i can't believe in the 8th season ncis is still so strong- bones, grey's, THIS is how it's done. take a cue
Franks: Over the years we do some things, some good, some bad. Decisions that help one person can hurt another. Gibbs: Damned if you do. Franks: In the end, ...
