I was really sad to see they killed Mike Franks in "Swan Song". I have really enjoyed watching Muse Watson in all of his screen appearances and he was a great character on NCIS. I hope his exit from the show does not mean we will not see him as a ghost character in future episodes. Thanks Muse for making your Mike Frank's character so great!!!

@ Carey -- Gibbs is the godfather to Mike Franks's granddaughter, so I expect that his character is well aware of her location, and will keep an eye on her situation and protect her mother, if she needs it (She did shoot the killer herself in Mexico that one time.)
@ Brennan -- Palmer is a peripheral character, despite having a Palmer-centric episode. I'm not saying I don't agree with you. I'm saying I see why they have not so honored him. However, if you buy the DVD's, you will see that the actor who plays Palmer is included in the group interview and discussion parties that they have on each set of DVD's.
He's a sweet guy, and his interaction with David McCallum in those interviews is also priceless, just as are their interactions in character, in the morgue, or at crime scenes. I like him, too.
@ Maka -- Ziva is changing with experience. She cannot continue to be an emotionless killer forever. The P2P killer is a graphic example of what happens to a human being who

Stay alive EJ!
Unfortunately, it looks as if the next episode is angling towards more Tony/Ziva melodrama, which is just what this show DOESN'T need. They had their chance a few seasons ago, now it's just tired, stale, and annoying. Let them both date other characters, and spare us the soap opera.
Also, Ziva's been getting hella soft on us lately, hasn't she? I miss those times when she was actually a badass.

Question WHY WONT THEY MAKE PALMER PART OF THE CREDITS?? They revolve an episode around him and he has been in more scenes than Vance. He is a staple to the TEAM!!! Put him in the pictures and in the credits.

This was an awesome episode!! But it is sad to see Mike Go he always made Gibbs smile and was a thorn in Vance's side which I liked and Gibbs seemed to like that too. I too found it interesting that Mike brought the Deker insurance policy with him. But what I also found interesting is that Gibbs never asked Mike about why he brought the box. Did he know something about Mike's health?
I have to say I think they did Mike's character justice by letting him go out fighting instead of Gibb's getting a phone call that he died on the beach.
My prediction for next week: EJ doesn't die at the hands of the P2P although she is injured. Instead of rushing to EJ's side, Tony goes after Ziva and saves her. At the end, EJ realizes that it's Ziva Tony loves and heads back to Spain. If the sec nav is next week's episode, then I am thinking that EJ is somehow related to him.
Loved Frank's reaction to Abby's blabbering when he asked who the other team was.

I will miss Mike Franks. "Float a Cheerio in it."
A good episode, And the tension mounts.
I loved that the first part of the episode was written from Gibbs POV and so we got super-respectful Gibbs, clueless EJ and super-efficient team.

I have discovered that I like Franks as a ghost a lot, he's hilarious. I hope we see him in the future that way.
EJ...no, just no. I'm not sure why initially she was getting the Snotty Superstar edit and now she's getting the Inexperienced Agent edit, but she's amazingly annoying either way and has done nothing to show why Tony would be interested in her, other than she's hot and they have work to talk about.
In a cast of superlative actors, she's standing out for a really weak series of performances. Hope she's gone forever soon.

Last night just confirmed my love for NCIS. I found myself crying for crusty Mike Franks as I did for Kate. It's been a long time since a tv show has gotten under my skin but this one has gotten to my heart. The whole cast is wonderful. I even endured David Letterman last night just to see a short Mark Harmon interview and I think I saw part of what makes this show so special. Mark himself commented about how the cast and crew work so hard to make this and you could see how much pride he takes in what they are doing.

Michael if you think about it in the two JAG episode's Kate came in when NCIS started then she died and Ziva took her place and she fit perfect I know you don't care because you hate her. so some of us call them the original cast meaning them and Ziva is a part of the team now ppl like her we don't want anyone of them to die thank you

Swan Song was a good episode, just too bad they killed of Franks. I actually looked forward to the show when Franks was to appear. He brought a nice spin to an episode and you knew there would be a lot of action because he didn’t have to live by the same code as an active agent. I will still watch the show but it will leave a big hole without his character.

I think the show last night was very good. It had you really trying to figure out what was going on. The new people, I just do not know why they came on. NCIS cast members Mark, Michael, Cote, Pauley, Sean, David, Rochy and Mike Franks all do a great job last night. Mark was really good, he really look like it was huring him so bad. Jesse Stern needs to get Gribbs a new wife. This would help him feel better. I'll be waiting for next week show. You all get a standing Ovation. Best wishes and good luck.

To btbwriter you are so right. Best episode this year and NCIS should be recognized. Jesse Stern, the writer of the episode said it would either be AWESOME or AWFUL....It surpassed AWESOME.
Loved the Tony/Ziva elevator scene. Best all year. I cried through most of the show and gonna watch it again tonight at 9 on Global TV.

They need to get back to what made the show great. Ziva being Ziva, Mcgee hacking into everything. Gibbs smacking everyone in the back of the head. Instead of entertainment they seem to be going for "meaning". The group hug was just nauseating. Ziva should have been looking to kill someone, not hug everybody.

just love NCIS- last nights episode was just fantastic- sorry they killed Mike Franks, he was a great addition to the show, want to know what happened to his daughter-in-law and granddaughter though.like some of the new NCIS agents, but they can kill off EJ- need someone with more depth, she is just not cutting it for me.do not want to lose any of the original cast, that would be sooo wrong.
