David Lee is billing her for his time on an ongoing basis, i.e. she's paying him, which means he's been retained by her.

"In order to be legally separated you have to submit and apply for divorce papers first then you can call it legally."

You're confusing "officially" with "legally". Legally, the period of separation starts to run when cohabitation ceases. All the rest is just paperwork.

BTW, are we really supposed to believe you're a lawyer? That must have been some two-bit law school you went to, if you think what Alicia did was "call adultry"[sic] and you think "custody" is spelled "custudy". Not mention that she was checking her "opions".

Of course, the U.S. has given law degrees to the likes of Ann Coulter and Nancy Grace, so they sure don't mean much anymore....

  2. Lawyer

she's retained a divorce lawyer to represent her. That means they are LEGALLY SEPARATED. Sorry pal but she checked to see what her opions were, she did not retain him. In order to be legally separated you have to submit and apply for divorce papers first then you can call it legally.
So to set the record straight Alicia is not legally separated and what she did is call adultry in the eyes of the law which could come back and cause major problems on custudy.

  3. Mama

He saved her life by giving her a job so she could support herself and her kids, if I can recall it was Dianne who gave a job not Will.
He was on a sexual sabbatical, according to the tattooed lawyer, because he was in love with Alicia. Believe that and it will snow in Hell.
She might have sex with him, don't count your chickens yet season3 start has a big surprise that will blow your twisted mind.

You have a very short memory, and you're not paying attention either.

    "she is not legally separated."

Wrong! She kicked the rotten bum out, they're no longer living together, and she's retained a divorce lawyer to represent her. That means they are LEGALLY SEPARATED. Your definition is wrong, because THAT'S WHAT IT MEANS.

"How did the asshole save her life by crossing the line and screwing her"

Hello? He saved her life by giving her a job so she could support herself and her kids, when the dirtbag she married went to jail. How did you miss all that? You need to watch it all again, this time with your eyes open. And there was no "line to cross".

And he didn't "screw her" while she was some helpless unwilling victim. She eagerly WANTED to have sex with him, after having to put up with sleaseball Peter for so long. Enough is enough -- and he's history.

"just another trophy for his ego"

You're delusional. "Another trophy"?? He was on a s

  5. Jackie Girl

Take off the blinders and see the real picture she is not legally separated, she just checked to see what her options were the marriage is still on. How did the asshole save her life by crossing the line and screwing her, just another trophy for his ego.
I hope he gets his in season 3 it will make my day and millions of others also, Alicia will take a look back and figure out why she screwed up and look for forgiveness from her family all of them.

Get serious. After a couple is legally separated, a "divorce" is nothing but a piece of paper to make official.

It's just incredible the irrational hatred that's out there for Will, who saved Alicia's life, and has always treated her with great kindness. Blake was a vicious thug capable of anything, but because he accused Will, these idiots think they must be right in hating him. They need to look at the source of the accusation and open their eyes for a change.

But what's truly pathetic is the number of these fools who actually believe that Alicia should stick with that rotten sleazy rat who lied to her, put her health at risk, and deliberately betrayed her over and OVER. They really must hate her, if they think that creep is all she deserves.

They hate Will -- but they close their eyes to Peter's faults, and he's sure got a lot more.

  7. Johnny Girl

Alicia isn't "married", she's separated bull she is still married!! 2) Alicia didn't pay Will, nor the hotel, sure did with a piece of ass 3) She's way too vanilla for kinky sex,how do you know? And 4) Will isn't married, no he's a Mother F_____.

You got 0 out of 4.

  8. John Graydon
    Rank: Guest Star

"How do you feel about a married mother who spends thousands of dollars of her family's money buying kinky sex from married men, again and again, while her husband and kids wait for her at home?"

You make no sense at all. WHERE do you see a married woman buying kinky sex from married men?? That sure isn't in The Good Wife! 1) Alicia isn't "married", she's separated from the rat. 2) Alicia didn't pay Will, nor the hotel. 3) She's way too vanilla for kinky sex. And 4) Will isn't married.

You got 0 out of 4. Guess again!

  9. ALL THE WOMEN

How do you feel about a married mother who spends thousands of dollars of her family's money buying kinky sex from married men, again and again, while her husband and kids wait for her at home? You really think he should still be faithful to a slut like that, just because they once were united in "holy matrimony"?? Let's put the blame here where it BELONGS.
AMEN BROTHER this is a two way street.

  10. John Graydon
    Rank: Guest Star

If you pretend to speak for "all the women", you must think they're all really stupid.

It's so pathetic that you think when her marriage has been completely destroyed by that lying cheating creep who just couldn't manage to keep it in his pants, that Alicia should have to get the approval of the government before she can move on with her life. Get serious....

And speaking of "knowing right from wrong" here, how do you feel about a married father who spends thousands of dollars of his family's money buying kinky sex from whores, again and again, while his wife and kids wait for him at home? You really think she should still be faithful to a dirtbag like that, just because they once were united in "holy matrimony"?? Let's put the blame here where it BELONGS.

  11. ALL THE WOMEN

Finally a person who can tell right from wrong, go Rose Marie your on track with the right description of the meaning of ""legal separation"".

  12. Rose Marie

Which means that a "legal separation" still means the marriage is over, and a "divorce" is nothing but a piece of paper making it official.
Ok your honor did not know you where so up on the law,but keep giving the sleazy dirtbag she was married to a free pass. Also the dirtbag she slept with a real number 1 asshole.
Alicia doesn't have to explain or apologize to anybody, she just has to bury her head and hope it goes away which it won't.
You're still living in the 1950s, I guess your one of those teeny bobbers who thinks he is at Woodstock in the 70's.

  13. John Graydon
    Rank: Guest Star

You're still living in the 1950s, Rose Marie. Nowadays, MOST couples cohabit for a period before they get "legally married", and more and more people these days aren't bothering to get married at all. Churches have nothing to do with it.

Which means that a "legal separation" still means the marriage is over, and a "divorce" is nothing but a piece of paper making it official.

It's just incredible how many people keep trying to hold Alicia to their artificial (and judgemental) standards of "morality" (e.g. "cheap cheating wife"??) -- but keep giving the sleazy dirtbag she was married to a free pass.

Alicia doesn't have to explain or apologize to anybody!

  14. Rose Marie

For all you folks who don't know the meaning of legally seperated I'll hit you with the right and wrongs.
•A legal separation is not a divorce. It is not an opportunity to go out and become involved in a new relationship. It is the opportunity to heal, reflect on your part in the marital problems and to learn how to live as a single parent if you have children. Before becoming involved in a new relationship you should also consider what it will mean legally during divorce.
So for the ones who think Alicia had the right she just put herself in a very bad position when it gets out and everyone labels her a cheap cheating wife and mother.

  15. Justine/John

We are in agreement that Alicia did not go through with the dirty deed in the hotel room, but got a cell call from her daughter regarding granny at the resturant with them. She left immediately to confront the matter but to manny people saw her leave and passed the word around about her infidelity affair with her boss.
Now she has a very big problem that she can't get out of and good old Will takes the 5th and denys evereything, his usual way of of covering his ass.
Maybe she will get the message that this is his part of a dark side she doesn't know about. Its best to move on and get a position with a better firm where everything isn't under the table and with the hopes of getting a few friends she can rely on for help.

  16. Lorrette

The writers should try and put together a few episodes where Alicia falls flat on her face and humiliated to the public so she can see the other side of the street. Without not going ahead with a divorce she shows that there is still a lot of love in her marriage, although she might consider moving Peter out a seperation but it is not legal. With that in mind her trip to the hotel room makes her the same as Peter was and will be hard to explain to family and any friend that will listen. A legal seperation is when when you file for divorce not when you move your spouse out for fun and happiness.

"Up until she went back to work there wasn't any 15yr mutual love.

I disagree. Clearly, Will had never stopped loving her, and Alicia just tried to pretend he was over, because she'd foolishly married somebody else -- who turned out to be a real sleazebucket.

They were both much younger in college and a lot less mature, and more likely to make bad choices -- like the one she made when she married Peter. (Also, when she said that, she was trying to talk herself out of it, because at that point she was going to try to be the "good wife" and stick with the rat she married.)

Now, though, Alicia has (hopefully) learned about the ugly consequences of picking the wrong guy over the right one, and will do whatever she has to do to get things back to the way they always should have been.

  18. Justine

Does anyone remember the cell phone call where she wispered and Grace heard her, to my memory she stated about back in college they wouldn't have lasted a week. And for all you fans about Alicia if they act at last on the mutual love they've felt for more than 15 years? Up until she went back to work there wasn't any 15yr mutual love. All this crap started on the first day of her job.

  19. John Graydon
    Rank: Guest Star

"I know a number of you will say that it's prudish of me to say that it was inappropriate for Alicia and Will to shack up, or that her wedding vows no longer mean anything because of all that Peter did to her."

Yeah, I'd say "prudish" would be a good start. Why is it "shacking up" if they act at last on the mutual love they've felt for more than 15 years? What insulting slang term should we apply to what Peter had been doing, while she was waiting faithfully at home?

And you're actually going to worry about her "marriage vows" after what she's been through? She's finally kicked the sleazy bum out, and they are separated. All a divorce would be now is a piece of paper. (How did Peter treat HIS marriage vows?) She has nothing to apologize for at all.

  20. Your ears only

It has to do with what happened in Canada she is hiding from and Peter helped her, he found out while she worked at the SA office and had to fire her to cover it up. People there thought it was an affair.

My guess is the reason Peter and Kalinda didn't just deny it is that they probably figured Blake really had something on them, and it would only make it worse if they kept lying about it.

Investigators like Blake wouldn't last long in the business if all they had was unsubstantiated accusations, so it's quite likely he did have some kind of evidence, like hotel receipts, photographs, or something. A shark like Blake would probably have been able to find evidence against them, one way or the other, including through the use of violence.

  22. Guest

Here is what I don't get. There was no solid evidence that Kalinda slept with Peter. Why didn't they just deny it? Its not like Blake had pictures or videos, etc to use against them. They can simply say Blake made it all up.

  23. I Spy

Does anyone know who the guy was playing the piano who winked at Alicia before getting on the elevator, he was watching them check in and proceed up. Guess we will have to wait till Sept. to find out about what cameras saw and who will get burnt.

  24. Melissa

Ahh you proved my point exactly! Da**ed if he loves her and da**ed if he doesn't!

  25. FAN ?????

He is a player and will stay that way just like a cheater, he doesn't love her thats the biggest come on of the century words are cheap.
