Over course, I just realised that if you extend the episodes per season to 24, but the CW gives the same budget then I'm going to have to expect some TRULY TRULY horrible filler plots/arcs this season for Gossip Girl and Supernatural.
Now, expecting some guest star arcs and poor writing to fill some episodes... NO NO no...

Given that the Vampire Diaries takes time to send the special effects over from Atlanta, I assume the production team has to be meticulous with episode by episode coverage.
As for Gossip Girl, 90210 and Supernatural, there really isn't any problems with setting more episodes other than the budget of the show. This is probably what surprises me considering the only time seasons get extended past 20 episodes per season is when there's a writers strike.
I also wonder how Nikita got an extended season since I thought there budget was pretty expensive. Maybe, we'll get a lot of tunnel and factory action.
