NCIS Cast Dishes on 200th Episode

by at . Comments

TV Guide Magazine went behind the scenes of NCIS' 200th episode this week, featuring the cast on three separate covers and interviewing with the cast and an inside scoop of the February 7 milestone event.

What can fans of TV's #1 drama expect as Mark Harmon's Leroy Jethro Gibbs looks back to the "roads not taken" and "a moment of mortal terror" where he "imagines a series of alternate-reality scenarios"?

A lot of familiar faces and surprises. Some quotes from the cast:

  • NCIS TV Guide Cover #1
  • NCIS TV Guide Cover #2
  • NCIS TV Guide Cover #3

Smiling NCIS cast members Mark Harmon, Rocky Carroll, Brian Dietzen (!), Pauley Perette, David McCallum, Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo and Sean Murray take the cover of three collector's edition covers of TV Guide.

"The episode is about, what if things had been done differently? What if Abby and McGee were married?" - Sean Murray

"In my particular reality of the 200th episode...I've been running different missions all over Europe, and it's old Ziva - loud and in your face and sexual. It's a great scene, just between Michael and me, with the original tension all over again. So it poses the question: Is the attraction inevitable?" - Cote de Pablo

"I figured, hell, we'll make a few episodes. But I did get a sense right off the bat working with Harmon that he was a cagey veteran who seemed to know the direction in which we should head, all the time." - Michael Weatherly

"The network heads came by for a celebratory cake and [CBS Entertainment President] Nina Tassler said, 'We'll see you at the 300th cake cutting!' It was like, wait, what? That's four and a half years from now! ... That's longer than a presidential term." - Michael Weatherly

ok. im kind of sick of people like saying how they want the old characters back. i mean. people grow. people change. you cant keep a character the same exact way. i mean honestly? you'd have to expect to see the characters change a little or soften or something. and as for shippers? i mean if yuou work around the same poeple long enough, there's bound to be sexual tension. im a writer so i can see where the writers are coming from. BUT, to all you shipers out there, the day they have a couple hook up, is the day the show looses its tug and pull. i mean, yeah you want to see them together but once they are toghter it loses its "will they or wont they?" that keeps so many people waiting and hooked for the next episode. so, all in all, think about the outscomes before you go wishing for something!!

I have watched this show from the beginning and have loved every year. I am looking forward to the 200th episode. Yes, the characters have changed somewhat, but they are basically the same. People change why shouldn't characters grow and change. I am not a fan of team romance, a little flirt now and then is fine, but usually its the kiss of death to a show when they start to pair them up. I hope there is a 300th episode, I'll still be watching.

I hope they bring EJ and Ray back and fix the mistake they made with them

I really hope that they don't make McAbby horribly broken together and kill any future for them. It's going to be hard to go back to the new Ziva after this. I loved Ziva when she was abrasive and hard-edged and sensual. The post-Somalia Ziva is an absolute bore.

Michael you must not be a real NCIS fan as it IS the no.1 show on tv and it IS still funny and a family show. I don't really understand where you are coming from, how has it changed? I am not a Tiva shipper either but I don't see why you have such a problem with it. NCIS has stuck with the same MO since first season solve navy cases working as a team with some humour and some character driven episodes. What has changed so much that you constantly complain? I am an NCIS fan as I support the show and I like all the characters how am I less of a fan than you when you clearly don't like the show??

i dont think michael is on the same page as the rest of us NCIS is the number 1 show and the ratings just keep getting better and its because of tiva.

NCIS Quotes

McGee: All right. Well you should probably know that Abby and I used to date?
Bishop: Ew. Like, each other?
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: Wait - isn't that a violation of rule 12, never date a....
McGee: It was a long time ago. After we'd broken up, one night I went to her lab. Found a scribbled piece paper; a list. Potential boyfriends had to fulfill certain conditions by a pre-arranged date or else, goodbye.
Bishop: Such as.
McGee: Things started off relatively normal: opening the door for her, flowers, putting the seat down. Then around number 8, it gets uh...
Bishop: What?
McGee: Does she know you have these?
Bishop: Does she know you have these?
McGee: Yeah she wasn't happy when she found out.
Bishop: These are all very specific.
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: These ideas apply to you?
McGee: No those rules weren't in place when we were together. At least I don't think so.
Bishop: What's with the two month cutoff? Abby's sabotaging herself. I've seen stuff like this before. We have to talk to her.

McGee: Rule number 70 - keep digging till you hit bottom.
Abby: McGee! There is no rule 70.
McGee: Well, I--
Abby: You just made up a rule. This McGibbs thing has really gone to your head. I don't even recognize you right now.
